Got my very first taste of pig hunting this past weekend. My son Will and I went with a long time hunting buddy, down to lower SC on the savanna river. We had a blast. Can't get over how good their noses are. We got close to a bunch of hogs. Some big, some small. some of the thickest terain I ever seen. I'll be back. The photos are of about a 95lber and a 30 lber and a couple of varmits that Will shot. one 32 steps and one 3 steps. DB

nice pigs..perfect eating size. Looks like "bullseye" shots on those armadillos too.
Where were you exactly. I grew up in Savannah and lived in Bluffton SC for 12 years. I used to do a lot of fishing and duck hunting in and along the Sav'h River.
Looks like you had a productive trip. Pat
Pat, we were somewhere off of hwy 3. the nearest town that I remember was Alandale? Don
I used to hunt the Savannah River Federal Wildlife Refuge (SC side) at lest 2-4 times a year. We used boats - tough area but loads of fun. Lot of write-ups and pics of it in the early pages of my web site. Don sent me his pics and they were like old memories to me, and are on my latest Gallery Page.
Boy that 30 pounder butterflied on a BBQ is going to be tasty....MMmmmmmmmm
When The Sav'h Wildlife Refuge first opened for public hog hunts myself and a friend decided we would give it a try. It was a disaster for us...too many people, too many shots in the tall saw grass and we were on foot. The most successful hunters we saw were 3 guys in a 14' jon boat. One guy was steering with a trolling motor along the canals and the shooter was sitting on top of a 7" step ladder. They had 4 hogs in their boat before lunch. Pat
