Look for a used Morrison here on the Tradgang classifieds. They pop up pretty frequently, usually for under 425.

Elberg makes a longbow down to 48" in a takedown version.
I shot a 54" @52# I believe and was one of the best bows I ever shot. No pinching just sweet flight. Well under $600 I believe.

Horne's Archery makes a great 58" Hybrid.Their Brushbow with your choice of basic riser woods and basic wood veeners with maple cores is 475.00 brand new.Check out the Faith and Hope thread they're 60" brushbows. These two donated bows went threw many different hands, arrows,  climates and a variety of game and they still are getting compliments from everyone that shoots them.I have one and have another on order. Just my 2 cents.

Neil Jacobson at Bear's Paw bows makes a very sweet 58" that is right around the $600.00 mark.  In fact that is the bow that I have been shooting for the last 2 years, it is a hard one to beat.  You can learn more at  www.bpbows.com (http://www.bpbows.com)

Hello,
try Keith Chastain from Wapiti longbows and Recurves. His Spike model in a 2-piece take-down comes in 58" and is about $555, his delivery time is usually short(max about 8 weeks). It is r/d, but not too bad.You can still string it without a stringer.
The take-down sleeve makes it easy to model your handle for your preference using some formable epoxy and a leather grip.
