Title: virtual archery
Post by: JBiorn on February 19, 2007, 06:10:00 PM
I have friends who love to shoot virtual archery, and I just love to go kick their butts with my little recurve. I have a new bow coming really soon(I posted already about it in the "lost my training wheels" thread), now I want to shoot wooden arrows at the sport. Does anyone know where I could find some of those virtual archery blunts that are glue-on for some of my cedar shafts? I would just truly love to be able to give them some competition still with wooden arrows! It just drives the wheel-shooters crazy.

If you can't find glue on adaptors why couldn't you cut some old aluminum arrows and glue it up front of your wood arrows. Just remember to use a lighter point than you would normaly.

Adaptors would be better probaly

Snail---nice idea. I guess, though, that I will be dealing with adaptors. Dammit, I wanted to see true glue-ons.

I don't know what this is for sure but Three Rivers Archery sells the big rubber blunts for wood arrows.

i know that the place i go to shoot the virtual archery range wont allow wood arrows in their range.  So i just made up some old aluminums that i use for that place specifically for that.  Its cool i can understand why wood might concern them and cause a need to protect their investment in the screen.

darkegreene, Virtual archery blunts are the metal ones, they are round-faced, kinda like a bearing sawed in half.

I think they are talking about "Techno Hunt" or the "Dart System" which are archery hunting simulations. You shoot a blunt at the movie type screen and it marks where you hit it and provides a score. Do a google search for archery interactive to see the Techno Hunt system.

Fella's I got a package of 5 glue on blunts for the dart system from Kustom King Archery about a month ago. I use them in the technohunt @ Uncle Bob's here in Dillon. I showed them to the owner & he compared them to the screw in blunts they have & except that the Kustom King blunts are brass & glue on points you can hardly tell the difference. I think the price for 5 was $11.95 plus shipping. Lots of people really look at my arrows most are compound shooters with plain black carbons. My cedars weigh 570gr with the brass blunts. The blunts are 125gr. Hope this info helps. Frank
