Looks like you've got some good numbers of deer in the area.  Now ya just gotta wait for an eternity before you can hunt them!  I'm with you on the scouting thing.  I've been out right now too.  Most of our deer have shed their antlers, although the majority of them are probably buried under the snow.  But still it's a good time to hang stands for next season.

Do you walk down the deer trails and look for a tree that would hide you with no leaves? Is there a stand there that we don't see??
I know I tried this last spring on snowshoes in 4 feet plus of snow; and learned a lot- for the spring bear hunt.
I always regret not scouting more!

Man did we have a great morning .We even kicked up 5 or 6 deer. The weather was perfect stopped at the dinner for a  big breakfast and we had the woods to our selves. We knew the deer were using these areas this put the icing on the cake.George where's the rubs??

Jon We can't hang stands this time of the year for next year in Jersey they would be stolen by opening day of trout season!!!We wish this was our own private property but even that said the stands would probably be stolen anyway.Bucky and I use portable climbers the only way to go.

Consider setting up a trail camera when the snow melts and guys can't follow your tracks.

Mike Trail Cams are great but these pics are from Fed/state game land in Jersey a well concealed  tree stand will  get stolen let alone a trail cam.We basically scouted to see if the deer were still in these areas. Their patterns will change before next season is here but the deer will be here. We'll look foward to next opening day and hope and pray no one hits us with the light going in.

It's a 60#@28 Samick Predator that I had done ALOT of work to. I had to strip off the green stain finish, take a rasp and smooth off the sharp edges and reshape the grip. When I first got it I thought it resembled a 2x4 with limbs. LOL! I added some green felt to the metal bracket that holds the limbs in place to quiet it down. The price on a new one was hard to beat so I can't complain. It shot really fast when I got it, but I didn't like the feel or looks. Now it's one of my favorite bows and it's really quiet. The limb skins from A.W.U. really put the finishing touch on it, I.M.O.
