I hear people talking about the spine of an arrow and tuning a bow. I understand that the spine of the arrow means how much it flexes when the arrow is released. However, how do you determine what the spine is for a given arrow and what spine is correct for your bow? I shoot a 58' reflex/deflex longbow 40# at 26in. Any ideas?....Charlie
Check O.L. Adcock's site. Best info out there on selecting the proper arrow.http://www.bowmaker.net/index2.htm
A lot depends on your particular bow and the amount of centershot in the sight window. In your case, and I'm sure you'll get a lot of opinions, is to start with a 40-45# spine arrow, 28" with a 125 grain point. If you need to stiffen the arrow a little, cut it down in length. If you need to weaken it, add a heavier point.
