I would like that info too. I am in "extreme" north Ga, ie, above the cesspool called Atlanta. I know there are pigs in this area, I am just too new to this to know any specifics, looking for trad hunters in the area between blue ridge and hiawassee.
I think you'd be better off going to coastal GA or SC if you want to do a DIY public land hogs. I've hunted about an hour outside of Augusta, and while I've seen some sign, it's not nearly what I've seen at the coast. I spend the most time hunting in NE TN and W NC, very similar terrain to N GA, and while I do see a little hog sign every year, I've only seen one small hog in the last 3 years...
Thanks Michael! That's kind of what I was thinking.
Chickasawhatchee WMA just below Albany, Ga has a good population of hogs. The Traditional Bowhunters of Ga usually have a get together in January or February there. Dendy Cromer of TBG is a good contact for hunting there. Also Flint River WMA in Dooly County has a good population of hogs and butts up to the Flint River. Good luck in your search.
I'll be hunting in North Georgia this September. I'll report back on here if I see any hog sign.

Anywhere near Blairsville?
I will be near Skeenah camp ground. First time I'll be down there hunting.
Is the Skeenah campground near public?

Yes, lots. I just know nothing of the area except from a trail runner and gravel biker point of view. The trails are great and I have seen lots of Turkey and white tail but never, until I picked up a bow a year ago, looked at any of it from a hunting stand point. I would love to tag along on a hunt, I know the area a bit, and learn something about hunting. I live an E-Bike ride away from Skeenah Gap.
If you get down to fort stewart..give it a try..hog season all year except during turkey
season...plenty of hogs...season pass or dailey..cheap..bout 150 thousand acres open most of the time
but always something open...and archery only areas too...bring cold weather with you..its hot.
