Were leaving Friday to go back to Sofala in South Africa. After completing my several year quest to take the South African Spiral Horn Slam with a sinew backed bow. I am going with nothing but the adventure on my mind and hope that a zebra hits the red dirt.
If you place an order with Pine Hollow Longbows after Thursday it will be close to the end of the month before you receive it.

I'm betting y'all have a great hunt Mike. Best of luck to you. The signal was sparse while we were there so good luck with posting, communicating with home.

Thank you! I hate to hear that. What was the problem?
Best of luck Mike. Sofala was my most enjoyable hunt. Truly an amazing place.
Good luck Mike.

Apparently power plant issues has much of the country in and out of electrical service. Towers fo down because of it. However we never lost power at the ranch.
With this moon though, and as dry as it's been, I expect y'all will have good movement and action.

Yeah, I'm not sure I can ever top that week. Four guys taking 14 animals was incredible.
But I'm sure Mike and his group will challenge thise numbers!
Enjoy. Louis has something special going on with Sofala. We didn't make back there this year due to an elbow injury that is mostly healed. I was just talking with Louis this morning and finalizing details for our return next year though
Best wishes on a wonderful trip.

Thanks David, I'm taking some of the arrows that you made me! And thanks again for all of the ones that have been ran through something!

Looking forward to Mike's report.
Good luck Mike!
Got it done on the zebra with the special arrow. Picture when we get back home. In Atlanta now waiting on the last flight and can't figure out the picture deal on my phone.
Can't wait to see the rest of your pictures! Congratulations again!
We had a great trip and I think 19 animals in the group.

6 had 7 booked but one got very sick on the plane over and has been in the hospital the whole time. His brother got to the hunt a couple of days late.
Man that's terrible. Prayer for healing.
It's been a great year at Sofala. Congratulations on a great hunt.
Wow Mike, that's terrible. I hope he's alright.
Can't wait to hear more and see more pics. :campfire: :coffee:
He' better but will still be in Africa another week before they will release him to fly back. There is an insurance that is out there for out of the country deals like this that I think we all need to check into. For less than 200.00 you can be covered the days that you are out of the country. I'm going to check into it for next year.
He almost died, had a lung collapse and kidneys were shutting down. I wont say his name but he is doing good the last I heard. Had Louis not got him to a good hospital he probably not have made it.
Fabulous harvest Mike...Congrats...
Looking quite forward to hearing of your hunt and the full african experience...
