Made up a special arrow to have in my quiver for my hunt in South Africa at Sofala in a few weeks.
Nothing screams Africa like a banana fletched arrow. 5/16 Hickory shaft with a 185 Grizzly single bevel Broadhead behind a 75 grain Woody Weight that spins like a top and flies like a dart weighing in at 815 total grains out of a 60 lb longbow, just waiting for a chance to go through a zebra!
Should be some lethal medicine.
Good luck Mike.
That's a pretty nice looking arrow. I know you are pumped.
That should do it, good luck and straight shooting.

Hope you get a crack at that jailbird (zebra) Mike!!!! Zebra is #1 on my list this summer. I've been 4 times and not had a shot at a zebra yet!!!!

Beautiful arrow, and i know it will cause some lethal damage Mike! Good luck to you guys again!
Looks good Mike. What's on tour list besides Zebra?
Wildebeest, impala, big warthog.
Looking forward to hearing about the trip.
I've heard tell that warthog is the best eating too.
I'm hoping for a good warthog as well. But my arrows aren't as pretty but the are wood and I built them so I guess they'll do!

I had to make a couple more. The one flew so good I kept shooting it and it passed through a soft spot in my broadhead target and went flying into some thick brush and I couldn't find it! Now I have one for a Zebra and a Warthog!
Good luck on the hunt. Nice arrows. You should not have any problem getting 2 holes on the zebra.
I'd have to search a while for one of them!

I did!
Nice looking arrows. Any self respecting critter would be proud to be shot with one. Reminds me of the Hickory Arrows I made a friend for one of his African trips. Lots of work getting the shafts straight, needed my heat gun. Can't recall what he shot with them but he was after a Crocodile , reason he wanted the Hickory arrows. His canoe driver chickened out at last minute and turned around. He didn't get a shot
awesome :clapper:
That is a cool setup Mike. I'm sure it'll do the job. Zebra rugs are just awesome.
I am loving the hickory shafts that I got from you! TOUGH and heavy. I guess subconsciously I liked your arrows so much that I painted the fletched end on mine almost exactly like yours without even realizing it, LOL! Weird. I did self nocks on my primative arrows.
Stone points and Grizzly broadheads for me this year.
Very lethal design...
Currently developing my own 2025 African set up for plains game...am planning to use it this 2023/2024 deer season.
That is a good looking arrow. Love em. Good luck to you....
Yep... been a fan of banana fletch, Africa and hunting Zebra for a long while myself! Good luck.
It worked!
Sometimes when you make up something special for a hunt you set yourself up for disappointment. This time after five previous trips I got it done with my stuff. One of the toughest animals to hunt in Africa and no doubt one of the best tasting. We ate a whole platter of the meat and all wanted more.
Only thing I hate was that we never found the arrow! Louis said he would look for it.
Awesome Mike! Congratulations!
Congrats Mike. Fine looking trad setup and trophy!
Very Nice!
Very nice Mike! Congratulations...Zebra are tough to hunt and tough to kill!
I'm just tickled to death for ya Mike!!! :jumper: :jumper: :jumper: :jumper: :jumper:
That's just GRAND!!! :clapper: :clapper: :clapper:

Awesome accomplishment....
Well done indeed!
Congrats Mike! Great pic as well!
