what is your favorite rubber boot for cold wet hunting :archer:
I've always like the 800 Burly's in the LaCrosse boot. I don't think they are as durable as in years past but they are very dry...and unfortunately rather heavy.
Still...they are great for the areas I hunt. They are amazingly warm and comfortable.
Schnee Outfitter pac boot with felt liner.
Muck Boots that are a size too big so that I can layer up socks.
I really like the LaCrossse Alpha Burley boots. I have a pair in 1000 gram thinsulate and another pair in 1600 gram. They are great for cold and wet weather. Excellent boots that are well worth the price.
I've always been a Bean Boot kinda guy. The Maine Hunting Shoe to be specific, which oddly enough are not shoes at all. :dunno:
I like Bean Boots as well, unless I'm going to be sloshing around in water continuously. Then, I prefer Muck boots.
Mucks with heavy wool socks.
Don't care anymore. Foot warmers. Want really Boot Systems? Lathrop and Sons.
Rubber boots are for mucking concrete or cleaning the barn, or sitting in a boat in the pouring rain......not hunting.
Gortex hiking boots are the way to go...but I do have some taller gortex boots for cold weather too. One size too big for fluffy socks....
I live in Oregon, and we hunt in seriously wet conditions out here. Nobody uses rubber boots that I know of....
Schnees
Muck woody max + wool. Warm and dry
J
Muck Artic Pros for cold AND wet. Warmest boots I've ever owned especially paired with merino wool socks.
I'm not hiking in the Rocky Mountains, just chasing whitetails in PA. I have walked several miles in them with no issues, actually comfortable. YMMV.
If it's just wet and not cold, I like my LL Bean boots. They are nice for early season as well.
I picked up a pair of Danner Pronghorns last season and have been very impressed with them as well. Again, just chasing PA whitetails and not hiking the Rockies.
Schnees are top of the line I have had them since 1994. Bean boots are good to but I slip alot in them and fall . I wear bogs mostly very comfortable I can wear them all day .
As said above, Muck boots one size too large and wool socks. It rarely gets much below freezing in middle Georgia so they are perfect. They are also comfortable enough to do spot and stalk hog hunting in the swamps or warm enough to sit in a deer stand for awhile.
Muck boots for as long as I can remember. Fieldmaster's for warm weather. Woody's for cold weather.
Cold weather, Alpha Burly1600 ....... depending.
I also wear a lot, non rubber........Danner Canadians with Goretex
Warmer weather, early season, LaCrosse Grange unisulated with Darn Tough merino full cushion socks. (Best socks on the planet btw!)
I don't care what you put on your feet........when it's legit cold out there, if you ain't moving, your feet will be cooling off.

Wet conditions aren't the same as walking 3/4 of a mile through a swamp to get to your treestand.
Knee high rubber boots are a midwest standard.

Well ya got me there.... We don't have a lot of swamps where we hunt. i can see rubber boots coming in handy in those conditions. There are some real nice insulated rubber boots out there to choose from now.... I personally like the Boggs myself for foul weather fishing. Kirk
