I have spent 7 mornings in my stand. Only saw deer 2 of those. It is a corridor around the field edge.
No scrapes. Very few rubs. I have a place of five acres of woods that is normally active with 20 rubs and a dozen scrapes
This year I found 4 rubs.
I hope that my fellow PA guys are doing better.
I would think the worst is not being able to go out in the woods. Enjoy what you have at least your seeing them and all that Nature has to offer.
Remember that's whey they call it hunting not shopping.:-)
Things will heat up, Full Moon Nov. 8th
My PA season has been odd also. Seeing a lot of animals I normally don't. Seen a fisher, a mink and lots of pheasants. Deer about same but I been bouncing around a lot so seeing them but not in range as I'm not dialed in. Kinda trying new spots. And weather has been terribly warm. Running out of south wind stand options. Lol. Next week could be good I hope.
I hunt in 3C, very slow year but I feel like the last few have been as well. I did get out the other morning though and took a decent 7 pointer at around 10 am. Be persistent if the sign is there.
The warm weather has made for slow daytime movement near me.My best late october /early november stands require NNW winds and they have been few and far between. At least it makes for comfortable sits in beautiful fall weather to enjoy Gods creation.Next week should be better, good luck and hang in there.
Better days are coming this warm spell is to end this Wednesday then turn cold. Good Luck guy's...
My cousin and I were just talking today about lack of scrapes compared to years past
It has been way warmer than usual, but next week or so look great
The deer are really starting to move in daylight now. I saw a bunch while hiking today. Maybe they knew it was Sunday. Sadly, I also saw four roadkill bucks during a half-hour drive. Maybe that's a sign that they are getting rutty?
Did anyone have any success today? I went out this morning and didn't see anything. Tonight, I came home to this.... :banghead:
