I've been shooting a leather tab, 2 ply deal..... I've really been liking the tab after only shooting a glove since day one. One little detail however that was getting to me, was a high pressure squeaking type noise once I would hit good tension on the string and would persist during my hold time. It was loud enough that I could certainly hear it and I bet a deer could also if at close range. Tonight just to see, I took some good ole Bohning string wax and put it in between the plys..... just like that, silent tab! Anyone out there do something like this? Wax or anything similar to your tab? :archer2:
With my Death adder Nylon facing I put coconut oil about 1-2 times a year.

I use Montana pitch blend when it starts to make noise or it's too dry
Armor All. Works great. Conditions, protects and keeps the tab slick. And most of us have it in the basement or garage.
I've used string wax on gloves as well. Especially in between the fingers.
I use calf hair tabs and have never had a squeaky problem, probably because I tend to lose them before they dry out.
I use a single layer of cordovan.
No squeak, and no maintenance.
I guess some wax might get on it accidentally from the string.
