PT starts next week, hoping for good results. May have to hunt left handed this year!! Anyone else been thru this ??
I haven't hunted sense 2019 because of sholder problems.
Don't know what a frozen sholder is but it doesn't sound like fun.

As much as I see the humor in your post it really ain't funny. The pain I feel just doing simple tasks is unreal. I can only shoot a few shots left handed. I hope you never have to deal with something like this !!
Follow your therapists plan, but you might also ask them what they think about Kirsch's writings about passive hanging for shoulder health. I had a left shoulder issue this past spring (not frozen shoulder but more like swollen/painful/weak), did the normal PT exercises with a resistance band and it straightened up. While doing research I came across Kirsch's stuff and bought his little book. While he really comes across in his writing as a guy that is angry that he doesn't get recognition that he wants, his stuff does make some sense. I think my shoulders feel better doing passive hanging.

Ron, I had frozen shoulder a few years ago. I was not even able to reach into my hip pocket for a handkerchief. I got a cordisone injection and my doctor gave me a series of exercises to do at home. They hurt! But they did the trick and I have had no problem since. Follow the advice of your doctor and PT.
Thanks David, sounds just like me, I can't do the shot because it messes with my blood sugar. But I will do the PT :notworthy:
You might google (Crossover Symmetry)
They have bands and programs especially designed for shoulder rehabilitation,maintanance and strengthening.You might get on one thier programs when your done with PT.I use it alot.
My wife did several weeks of therapy and it wouldn't break loose. They finally anesthetized her and manually broke it free then she did more therapy. She hasn't had an issue since
Happened after she fell on a wet floor and jammed her elbow on the floor when she fell
Search for "Bob & Brad" on YouTube. They are great PT's. I have recovered from an impingement of my shoulder that was very painful. Some of their exercises gave me pain relief immediately.
Hi Ron - I had a frozen shoulder 12 years ago. I'll be 65 soon. I did PT and did the exercises at home too. No problems since. Dropped down in bow weight and still shoot my longbows all the time and go to shoots. Praying you have a speedy and good recovery too. - Chad
My son was a baseball pitcher. One day while on the mound his shoulder froze. He looked at me from the mound and said" Dad my arm wont move". I reached out to a guy here in Tampa that worked for the Yankees and the Red Sox for about 25 years in their physical therapy departments. Long story short, he came to the house, checked out my sons shoulder, and said, "I'll have him throwing a bull pen in the backyard in an hour, and he will throw harder than he was throwing before". With that said; he had him throwing in the backyard in about 45 minutes. Basically, he said "in most cases when the shoulder freezes up, it is the nerves around the shoulder that have locked up to protect the shoulder for some reason. What he did in the course of the 45 minutes was let the shoulder know that it was OK to release the "lock" on the shoulder. He had my son do a series of exercises while laying on the couch with a can of soup and resistance bands over the course of the 45 minutes, and my son has never had another problem with his shoulder since. In addition, he did throw faster than before. The guys name is "Hap" and everyone called him "Magic Hap" because of what he could do with shoulders and arms. He said most shoulder and arms can be fixed without surgery if nothing bad has been torn etc.......

I'm sorry, didn't mean to be insensitive.
I have some shoulder problem not like most of you that posted as I read Ryan Rothhaar post and he mentioned about the "passive hanging for shoulder health" I do this before I shoot and 80 army rotation 40 forward and 40 backward both big and small rotation, and there are some great YouTube video on passive hanging for shoulder health. I hate to see anyone go through this.

Sorry to hear of your difficulty. PT and working with stretch bands has taken care of my shoulder pain.
But- just a warning. For me it wasn't just a do the exercises and it will resolve the issue. My PT lady said you will probably need to keep up with the exercises to remain pain free. Small price to pay I guess.
