Anyone know of an over the shoulder sling type pack that has an auxilary strap for solid anchoring so is doesn't slide around?
I've been waiting on Bison Gear to 'gear' back up. Told him when he bought it I wanted to give him some input on a sling pack. Its gotta be quiet as well. :coffee:
Tenzing has a sling pack with a waist belt and is setup for archers.
Hey, thanks brother, I'll try Tenzing. Tried Amazon a while back and I got tired of wading through the bazillion of them they sell. I don't have time for that. Thx sir!
Sitka makes one as well. I've looked hard at it but the Tenzing is much better priced.

Thank you Sir, I will check that out. Anytime you google a product amazon comes up and its frustrating. I wont buy from them because they stay in my face.
I hunted last season with this sling pack. While it does not have a waist strap I found the pack was very stable and snugged into my back without movement.

Yeah I like the looks of that Tenzing one. I've been on the fence on the Sitka because it's pricey but also has mixed reviews.
Dragonheart, that's a nice looking sling bag. Funny how the ad says 100% Hemp when its obviously not. :biglaugh:
Anyhow, so you are happy about the way it stays put?
Have you jogged with it on and full? Sometimes with hunting javies n hogs I have to boogie to cut them off and was just wondering how it would do under that scenario.
Thanks. :campfire:
The pack is quiet and the adjustment on the strap is easy to adjust and you can cinch it up tight, or let it hang. The color is drab and flat color great for hunting. I will take a run like my hair is on fire and javalina is going to get me, had that happen once we were both surprised at the same time... :biglaugh:. I will report back in the morning and let you know, also the price on this one is nice.
This is an Amazon sling pack with strap that I bought several years ago. I like to use it while muzzle loading deer season or some quick scouting trips.
The Tenzing is a much nicer pack.
Thanks Dragon, look forward to the report. Its gotta be quiet, no if-ands-or buts. Nylon, cordura, etc wont work.
Slow jog no issues. Sprinting it does not josel all over. The pack really is snug onto the body.
Tenzing looks nice.

Thanks everyone. I might try that hemp pack after reading Dragon's experiences.
Thanks again. :campfire:
It is not a ton of money to invest, and I have been pleased with it.
Thanks Dragon... I'm going to order one..... :campfire:
I have a tensing slingpack with the attached quiver. It is my favorite pack for day hunts or even multi- day hunts.
I used it 2 years elk hunting for 8-9 days and started having back problems. I had it loaded rather heavy and perhaps that was the prob. The water blader added substantial weight, plus all the other gear. The regular pack did not cause that problem. Now if I can just find a quiet one that isn't heard moving through the oak-brush. Why are they all so noisey?
Rufus, I have a Bison Gear pack in buck swede that is quiet.... this hemp pack should also be quiet. I can't deal with nylon/cordura/gortex while hunting. Hopefully Bison Gear will be back online soon as I have ideas for them for a sling pack, and Tom knows this.
Thanks Terry. I have a friend with an old Kathy Kelly pack, it is quiet, but not very roomy. It has no place for water bladder, so he carries plastic water bottles, and they are not quiet! I have been watchinig Bison and hoping, but elk season is coming. Thanks again .
I hear ya on the water bottles.... I smash them to where the water is at the rim and screw the top back on so there is no sloshing sound while I'm stalking. Same with a bladder.
I have used this Duluth Trading sling pack for approx. 10 years now and it is still going strong.
It has become very supple and quiet and holds a surprisingly large amount of stuff.
They also come in a few different colors, mine is green.
