Profile says you are 38, so you have been with us since you were 18?
Hmmm? Maybe it's that "new math"...?? :dunno:
Could be "dog years"....
Profile says he registered in 2005. That would be 17yrs ago, when he was 21.

Naw man, we been here for a while.... his registration date was in 05... so I made a mistake, he joined when he was 20 it seems. Just think its cool that's all. :campfire:
Awesome to see younger ones getting into archery, especially traditional, AND still sticking with it.
I registered on here a few days after my 18th birthday. It was one of those things I was looking forward to about turning 18 like getting to buy a lottery ticket and such. I was reading on here long before that though and a couple of times considered faking my age just to join sooner haha!
Trent, as they say down under..... "Good on ya mate"!
WOW - I'm just minding my own business strolling through PowWow and I see "Tradgang Member Blaino" and instantly I thought oh no..... I screwed something up! Luckly, I do my best to do the right thing as much as possible. :goldtooth:
Yes, I've been on TG since December of '05. That was my junior year of college. When I went home for Christmas break, I ordered a Shakespeare Manitou recurve off of Ebay for $50 bucks. I took that bow to Jeffery's Archery to get it set up. I remember Mr. Owen walking by seeing me waiting in line. He turned and said, "boy let me see that bow." Obviously, I hustled right over! He went on to tell me when he designed that bow and a bunch of stuff that was over my head at the time. I told him I paid $50 dollar for it and wanted to hunt with it. He replied with "shit you paid too much, let's shoot it." I came to full draw 2x and he went and got an aluminum arrow, cut it, screwed a point on - "shoot that." It shot perfect. I shot that arrow a handful of times and my new order was "look at the broadheads we have and get a back of whatever you like." Like every new bowhunter I wanted to know what head works best? Again, I got the best of Mr. Owen - "shit boy, they all work and none of them will kill anything" I grabbed a pack of Muzzy. Mr. Owen opened the pack and showed me how to put the heads together and told me that "this one will be your practice head, let's shoot it." It flew straight. Mr. Owen said "you're good to go, get out there and stick'm in the ribs!" I will always cherish that hour I spent with Mr. Owen.
I ended up killing 3 deer with that bow and it all started right here at TG!
Thank you,
Blaino

That's a cool story.. my favorite hunting bow in high school (early 90's) was the Jeffery "Special" recurve.. I still have it today and it shoots great.
