I think it is time to start a new HUNTING VEHICLE thread. Who has a classic, and who has something new?
I am sticking with my Classic 2001 Jeep Cherokee XJ Sport. I have put some time and money into a few improvements, and it just keeps going. Somewhere around 275,000 miles and still going strong.

I've riden in that a time or 2 . Nice that you held onto it Joe. :campfire:
This is my hunting car
Yep, Terry. That white Jeep has seen some adventures.

No photos but I have a 2018 Toyota Tundra. I like the truck a lot but these gas prices are killing me.

245,000 miles and still going strong. Also have a 4Runner that works better for some of the narrow forest service roads in these mountains.
I have 298000 miles on my Tacoma and it's still running great. I guess I will be getting rid of it though because I just bought a Honda I know it's not a truck Ridgeline.
Bought this 96 Ranger just for hunting 200k and still going first outing was a twofer!
Have a 2013 Toyota FJ Cruiser TRD. Can't get pics to post correctly. Trail Team version with "creeper mode" just push the button and control speed with knob on the roof. Real slow, but I have never been stuck. Pretty amazing the stuff you can crawl out of.
:campfire: :coffee: :archer2:
Toyota guy here. Had a 86 and a 2002 that I gave my kid and now have a 2018. Been great rigs for tight mountain roads and are winters.
Stock TRD OFF ROAD
Wish I'd never sold this one. Tough old truck.

But the new 2022 V6 4x4 sure is nice.

I have a 2008 Polaris Ranger 700XP. The motor died in it last year I looked into getting a new one, but couldn't swallow the current prices of new UTV's. I had a used motor installed in it and it's still chugging along!!!

Just got a 22 f150. Love it so far. Put a camper topper on it so I can sleep in it on weekends where I'm running somewhere far from the house.
81 CJ5 with warn winch, great hunting and recovery vehicle.
I used to have an '03 trailblazer which got me through the first few years of college and worked really well. It has over 200K miles on it and is still going strong. It will be going to college with my brother this fall.
My current hunting (and everything else) vehicle is a '99 Chevy Tahoe. I love the way OBS Chevy's look, and they seem to go through just about anything without an issue. Plus the Vortec V8 engine that they put in them is super reliable and easy to perform maintenance on. I just hit 180K with it a few weeks ago and hope to be driving it for another 50-100K.

Guys I love seeing all these rigs that are used !! I too have soft spot for older Jeeps [I had a CJ3] but the long outback distances in Australia were killing my little mountain goat. The Ford Ute in pic is a 4 Litre six engine but with a factory locking rear diff that is nice for when situation gets sticky The camp set up is pretty typical of a WA outback hunt that works for me.
My huntind vehicles my quad for at home and a 1965 willys ecj 5 for when I hit the state ground
I haven't used this yet for hunting but plan to. My surgeon says I have about ten years left so I thought what am I waiting for?

1952 M38 Willys. Best thing I ever bought
Im with Michael and Chinook, my old '99 F150 with a locker in the rearend stays loaded and ready for any kind of hunting, just abt any where at any time.
Joe Buck that Willy's is awesome!!!!!! Very cool
Grandfather had one like that, came in barrels of grease and had to be assembled.

2005 Toyota 4 Runner or 2016 GMC 2500 HD
Well, since I only hunt in the back half section, this works fine for me.
2013 Tacoma 4X4. It just turned oner 100,000 miles this month. Runs good and gets me where I need to go. The only reason I would want anything else is that I would like to get a camper trailer and could use more towing capacity.
No picture but I am with the ranks of faithful Tacoma owners. I've owned two and could count mechanical issues on one hand after thousands of miles. My current Tacoma,03 TRD, 178,000 miles, is the only vehicle of any owned by my hunting buddies that can get back to my cabin on a two track 1/4 mile long that is nothing but deep ruts and deep mud. The next time you pull up behind a 1st gen Tacoma just look at the stock ground clearance and shock mount placement.
X2 vesty!! I just gave my kid my old 02' Tacoma with same many miles as yours. I wouldn't be afraid to drive it across country and back. When I got my new Tacoma I just couldn't get rid of it. It's been on a lot of hunts and not once left me stranded. And all stock no mods to her just tires.
My 2014 Ram. A week away from 250,000 miles. [attachment=1]
Waited two years for this one. Its already proven its lucky... [attachment=1]

My good old "un-breakable" Toyota Hilux, a 1996 2.8 litre diesel. 330,000 mile's on it and still going strong, did replace the clutch at 300,000 though.
Along with also being my work vehicle, it's been my hunting and fishing chariot for about 17 years now. Don't plan on changing it in a hurry, probably just re-build it as necessary. Carted many a deer, wallaby or fish home in it, and many many tons of firewood too.
Over the years I've camped on it, in it, under it, and beside it.
The "top deck" has proved very useful, every time I go bush, when I go home all my camping gear, and hopefully some game, goes up top, and a load of firewood comes home underneath.
Had a 1992 single cab flat tray diesel Hilux before this one. Put almost 300,000 miles on that one too, but when a bloke gets married and kids come along, a single cab is just not all that practical anymore, hence the dual cab :biglaugh:

Here is one of mine
Hey Bryan,
What is that red rickshaw of yours?
Looks neat anyway

My hunting vehicle, a 2016 Tacoma TRD Off Road. Its been down some nasty roads and trails to retrieve game.
2018 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sahara JLU - When it's not climbing around in the Michigan National Forests, it's flying around the Sand Dunes at Silver Lake State Park. Goes wherever I need it to go. Took me years to convince Roy from PA to dump his Toyota for a Jeep. He now understands . . .

Went to Colorado last weekend and bought what will hopefully be my hunting rig for the next 10+ years. Impossible to find them this clean in Michigan so I figured it was probably worth the weekend it took to get it. '97 GMC Sierra Z71 with 109,000. Super happy with it and am looking forward to taking it out this fall! At the same time I feel a bit guilty getting such a nice older truck dirty :biglaugh:
