Found a Bear Grizzly today at a flea market/rummage sale.
Not even gonna say what I gave for it, but I almost ran back to the truck.
Still has the ugly sticker ad for the bow fishing rig etc. Would y'all remove it?
Any value to leaving it on a 40-45 year old bow?
I think you should send that bow to me so I can dispose of it properly.
Or better yet, mail it to Texas so we can get a proper test of performance. We have allot of black furry targets down here. I personally might leave the sticker on.

...WoW!, you did good... :clapper:
... is it a grizzly (single lam limb), or a super grizzly(double lam)?...
.... and that sticker, 100% absolutely adds
collector value!!!....
...so NO!, do not remove it.... :knothead:
If you take the sticker off, the wood will be lighter colored underneath. However, I assume you're not a collector, and Grizzlies aren't that valuable as collectors anyway. If it were me, I'd remove it and use it while the wood underneath darkens.
Great find, congrats...
Thanks for the replies.
Yes it is a Grizzly. I am not a collector, just a hunter and shooter. From searching the web, this bow is from between 1973 to 1978 Grayling Mich. The sticker it pretty ugly, I will probably take the sticker off and roll on.
I shot it 8-10 times at 18 yards all into 4". Then I got scared of the obviously original string.

...https://www.ebay.com/itm/224895337737?hash=item345cce8509:g:DvwAAOSwYHxWHwTm... stilldub has the best strings on the planet.... IMO...
That is a great find!
Here is a Grizzly I picked up last year. As you can see, someone removed the sticker and the wood was much darker underneath.
I refinished the bow and the darkness lightened a little but I didn't get crazy with sanding trying to eliminate it totally. I imagine if it was that big of a deal to me, I could've got rid of it all together with a lot of sanding.
I'll attach a before and after pic.
Here is the before.
Here is an after pic, you can still see the darker area in this picture if you look closely.
Enjoy your new bow!

I haven't removed it yet, still trying to decide. Thanks for the pictures, that helps.
I had one on a Kodiak Hunter, took it off, it was ugly. The wood underneath was fine.
Removed it and it looks muck better.
It is hard to give the finish justice with pictures, but it is like stepping back to the 70's.
^^^^^ That looks great and I agree, better without the sticker.
Enjoy your new Grizzly! :archer2:
