I was called out about listing my knives on Pow Wow. I guess I've been stretching the rules about keeping my post to the knife forum. I don't sell my knives on Trad Gang, infact I rarely sell a knife as most go to different charities. Over the years I've donated over 20 thousand dollars to St Judes charity through knives on our auction. I guess I'm getting too old so I won't be posting anymore...tippit
Sorry to see this Jeff. I've always loved your work and I was always outbid in the St Jude's auctions. I will miss seeing your work. You're a talented blade smith.
I dont see you bending the rules I like to see your knives. I dont look at the knife form very often , you aint too old to post !
I enjoy seeing your art.

I'm new to traditional bows but I went and looked at some of your knives and they are awesome! I sure hope you don't leave, you got too much to give to young fellows (61yo) like me.
Are you kidding me???
I may be wrong, but I think there must be some misunderstanding.
Tippit, I don't think there is anything wrong with showing items that are not intended for sale on the Pow Wow. I think those who have challenged you are wrong. If someone shows a new bow or set of arrows they have made, most people seem to like seeing them. Perhaps some of your critics don't realize that you are not selling knives, just showing what you have built for charity. Anyway, I hope you stick around.
:saywhat: April fools...I hope.
i like show and tell, we need more!
And how many folks have their tires come to a complete stop at stop signs?? I believe the biblical analogy is removing the log from your own eye before the splinter from some one else's.
Are you serious? I enjoy seeing your work!
Hey Jeff! As far as i know LC (Larry Cooper) isn't any part of admin. You aren't attempting to sell anything. If LC had a problem with your posts or a question about the rules he should have contacted admin and not try to publicly try to call you out which really was kind of assinine. Maybe someone from admin can chime in...
I have not spent much time on the PowWow forum, but have noticed and appreciated your knives. It's pretty obvious the intent, when someone who is new to the forums, posts with staged photos, their handiwork. Thats clearly not the case with you. That said, rules are rules and the question becomes, is there a problem for you to be posting in the appropriate forum?
The way I see it Jeff, is that the Moderators do a pretty good job pulling things off the Pow Wow and putting them in their proper place. Seeing as it has never happened to one of your knife posts, I'd say keep on posting.
Tippet,
Pull up your big boy pants and keep posting.
You're part of what makes this the go to trad site.
Keep it up.
Kevin
OK, Pulled up my pants as suggested, I'll only post on the Knife Thread from now on...tippit
Jeff there isn't a single problem with your knife making photos being posted in pow wow.
Myself and many others enjoy your pictures of the knives you make.
Those who bitch don't post much of anything in here.
Carry on dude and post those knife pictures in here.

Wow I too totally love Tippet's knife photos whether he sells or not. Great work. BUT years ago TG had a huge influx of folks making knives and posting on Pow Wow. It actually inspired me to make knives and I've donated to Saint Jude's auction! They said it was no longer acceptable. Big back splash they came up with a forum for KNIVES. I personally don't have a problem with Tippet and him posting knives on Pow Wow but it was a rule. Rules are rules. Break one break them all. That's all I'm saying. Maybe TG is so desperate for hits they allow IDK.
Not breaking rules
Hunting knives are OK
Throwing knives, throwing hawks, non hunting knives not ok
Good to know. So why the separate forum FOR hunting knives and crafters? I seriously am not wanting to call out Tippit or his posts as he's a craftsman and makes incredible knives. Great talent and someone I'd love to share a camp fire hunting with. I always loved TG for sticking to their original forum rules of sticking to Traditional bowhunting only in Pow Wow. This will be my last post on the subject. Your forum your rules.
Quote " Those who bitch don't post much of anything in here." So someone that has been here longer than you calls me out for "bitching" So how many replies are relevant to respond when rules are broken. Yeap I don't post often. For the record I make my own traditional bows, arrows, strings, fletching, taxidermy and butcher my own game with my homemade knives. Been doing that since most of you all was a spark in your daddies eyes. OK so now I'm also called out as assine!
So can I now post pics of rifle kills and cross bow kills on Pow Wow. Sad it's went down this way. I tried really hard to keep it civil.
Roy from PA nailed it! I don't visit the knife forums, but I really enjoy seeing your incredible talent! Lots of folks on here want to admire beautiful work without checking out other forums!
Bernie
Thank you for the explanation Roy!
There are plenty of separate forums here but this one has the most activity.
It is inspiring that I can come to one place and see how someone makes a knife, shows off a bow that they are proud of or even shows how they do their wild game grilling and can give recommendations on the spices they use.
Keep up the good work Jeff and thank you for sharing!
Thad
Sorry to see this Jeff. I could look at your knives all day long.
Post away Tippit. Not sure where all of this is coming from, but folks have been posting knives on the Powwow for years. I guess someone missed a rule change from back yonder. No worries. If someone want's to post their creations and a build along on the Knife Forum for other knife makers or knife enthusiasts its available. If someone wants to post a knife they made for themselves and donations you can certainly do that.
Jeff, you should have contacted us, I had no idea there was an issue.
Glad that is cleared up. Now let's see some hunting knife art!!!!
:campfire: :coffee: :archer2:
Hooray! I enjoy seeing the knives that Tippit makes.
There ya go, Jeff.
Now lets see some more knife pictures.....
:campfire:
LC, I hope you were just having a bad day. Last time I checked I've never needed a rifle or crossbow to field dress or butcher a game animal. In the case of a bowhunter, a knife is not a weapon but a tool. No different than arrows, broadheads, back pack for gear, quiver, dragging rope, etc. Sorry, but making out a skinning knife to be a rifle or crossbow is, well, asinine.
Really sad a man has been enjoying Tradgang since 2004 for FREE and never gave back would make such statements. Shame on you Larry, you should be banished to the leather brawl with your attitude.
