Title: Cordovan tab
Post by: Blacktail42 on February 12, 2022, 01:40:05 PM
Anyone know who makes a simple split finger cordovan tab these days. I had one I bought from 3Rivers and I checked the site and they don't list one like it anymore.

Thank you, I have a Bateman Bubba that I love but I also like a simpler version for some of my shooting

Call Bateman,  he probably will make it however you want it.

I've always used the Black Widow tabs as they just fit and feel better to me. Recently, they came out with the Cordovan leather tab and I've been shooting them about a year. Though I shoot three under; they also make a split finger tab as well.

I love the cordovan tab as it wears like iron.

I use this one in the 3 under version. Good finger protection, plenty of material to trim as necessary, smooth release.

What ever happened to the tabs that had the bigger hole for the middle and ring finger and the smaller hole or the index finger. Years ago I exclusively used one with sheep hide glued to it.

My son and I really like the simple Neet tabs - he likes the hair version but I use the Super Leather. I don't believe it's cordovan, but really like the feel and they hold up well - usually till I lose em! But at a little over $10 it's easy to keep a few around...

I don't think my fingers will ever be that tough I use a Yost cordovan tab with neoprene spacer.

I use the Bateman tabs but modify them to be like the old Neet ring tab. Scrap peice of leather an o-ring and rivet. Or you could omit the rivet and sew the leather together.

Blacktail, I sent you a Message.  Larry Dean, those were "Lam-Rich" tabs, or something like that. Those were the first tabs I used when switching from a glove.  They went out of business years ago and I had to get used to the Next or Allen brands elf hair and with a single hole for middle finger.

Thanks Lamrich, that's the one. Those worked pretty good for me. I can cut a tab from leather, finding some wool-on sheep hide may be a challenge.

Safari Tuff makes one.  I retired my Eichler tab after 13 years and bought one of these.  Takes a little getting used to...

Don Ward at Eagles Flight made me some dirt simple ones, and also gave me some cordovan so I could make my own. Try him out.
