:thumbsup:John and Lori at AL took great care of me. They refurbished my Crossover with new finger stalls and a longer, wider wrist strap. Nicely done workmanship and VERY economical. Now I wait for this cold snap to end to start breaking it in!
Yep, they're good people! I have 4-5 of their gloves, & LOVE them! Best glove I've found!
Yes indeed, there shooting gloves cant be beat.

They're working with me to upgrade from a Large to XL.

Simply put "Great Service". I shoot a large glove but need a longer wrist strap. They did a special order and got it to me promptly. I highly recommend this company.

Which finger stalls do you all prefer? I currently don't have one of these gloves, i have shot damascus almost exclusively until they leather changed a few years ago. I have experimented with the Bodnick Bearpaw with cordura on the fingers, and am currently shooting an Alaska Bowhunting Supply glove that is close to the old damascus but heavier leather on the fingers. Both shoot well for me but I lean towards the ABS glove. Just curious on the preference of leather or cordura. Thanks.

I'm very pleased with the Buffalo Crossover they just refurbished for me. Stalls are reinforced. You can send a tracing of your hand for a custom fit.
Have to shoot mine more to get an adequate feel for it.

I know what you mean. I wore mine to a brush shoot last night and did poorly. I wasn't always confident of my anchor and the score showed it. I'm sure I'll get back in the groove soon.
Jim I'm sure you will. I'm a Rick Barbee tab shooter, and am getting back into gloves for extended shooting. How was your season? Mine never got started!

Sent my Elk Big Shot size Large back to American Leather and even though it had been lightly shot they upgraded it to an XL for the cost of shipping. Glove should be here Monday. I'll get to breaking it in.
:campfire: :coffee: :archer2:
The nylon strap material holds Dr.Schulz Foot Powder very nicely and makes the release very smooth. It doesn't hurt to have some of that for the average hunting boot any way, with the nylon tab you can give it a second job to do.
Just received a box from AL. Had sent them a very lightly used glove, about two dozen arrows, sized large. They upgraded to an XL for me for the cost of shipping. I had not even bought the glove from them! Could not be more pleased. I'll shoot it for a few weeks and get back on how it feels.

Their Kangaroo crossover ruined me. I wont be able to shoot anything else!!!! :biglaugh:
Hope to get this Elk Big shot broken in.

...2X for their Kangaroo glove!...
...it took 8 years for me to wear out an American Leathers Buffalo glove...I thought it was pretty expensive when I bought it, but price/divided by years of use make it seen dirt cheap... I have sine replaced it with their Kangaroo glove.... Very thin, VERY TOUGH!... I'm giving it my vote for" best of the best"... they are all great, but the kangaroo has made the best better...
Starting to get used to the big fat finger in corner of my mouth. Glove is starting to grow on me. Just might be a contender.

I lucked out yesterday and found one in the classifieds, waiting now to try it!!!

So I got my new to me glove in the mail today, it's the Buffalo Crossover, wasn't sure how I would like the plastic inserts in the finger stalls. I have been shooting my 45# limbs on my Northern Mist Skanee, trying to get ready for turkey season. I was so so with it shooting with this glove, but I haven't been shooting them that great anyways. :banghead: So I decided instead of swapping out my limbs I decided to try my American, which shoots close to my 55# limbs I have for my Skanee. It is a 68" bow 53#, my Skanees with the 55# limbs make a 66" bow. Short story long, I shot 3 arrows out of the American, 2nd one took the nock off the first one, and I screwed up on the 3rd shot, pic to follow. I think I'm going to like this glove, I seem to get a really clean release with it, and have been very impressed with it, for how little I have shot it. I am curious those of you who have shot gloves with and without the plastic inserts, what are your thoughts between them, I am going to order one without just to see for myself, would like some input before I do.

My American group.

Best glove made bar none.
Best gloves I've ever used. I own three, not because I've worn them out, but because I sometimes "misplace" things. Emailed them last night with a question and had an answer within a half an hour. Great products, great service and great folks!
I'm partial to the kangaroo. Best gloves out there no matter the leather type.

Considering getting a modified Kangaroo Crossover. Waiting on feed back from another fellow trying a modified Crossover, as well.

... :saywhat:... two pages of positive feedback, and not one negative word ... :dunno: ...
... it's not like you can have too many... :goldtooth:
... "just do it"... push, push... :bigsmyl:
They are the best
Had an interesting shooting session tonight, my new glove without the plastic inserts is breaking in nicely after a couple applications of Montana Pitch. Was shooting with that glove and was doing ok, not like I wanted. So I grabbed the one with the inserts, and first group was nice and tight, only shot 3 arrows as I was a little afraid of busting nocks. Shot a couple more groups with similar results, so I switched back to the one with out inserts and was very happy with my results, same thing started smacking shafts together. Pretty much operator error near as I can figure. Very nice to know that I can switch back and forth between the two without any issues.

American Leathers is what I always shot when I moved off Damascus, they gave my kid a glove/ arm guard combo no charge at a show. I've had several and still do. They're top notch.
Their customer service is outstanding.
They graciously built a Kangaroo Krossover to fit my large hands with long skinny fingers.
I had them refurbish that first glove after 3 years of hard use and ordered a spare while they still had some of the brown leather.
Hear Ye - Hear Ye!
Just asked a question via their website this morning and had a answer back when I got home this afternoon. I'll be placing an order for a modified Kangaroo Crossover in a few days. I'll still shoot my favorite Death Adder nylon faced tab, but need a back up to the back up in my back pocket. Probably add an arm guard to the order.
:campfire: :coffee: :archer2:
Just dropped hammer on modified Kangaroo Crossover, layer of Buffalo leather instead of plastic. Like the Elk Big Shot as far as a glove goes, fairly confident the modified Kangaroo Crossover will be a comfortable glove. Might even convert this tab shooter! Big shoes to fill.
:campfire: :coffee: :archer2:
Just got home from my AT hike chunk. AL package was here waiting, with arm guard and modified Kangaroo leather Crossover. Also, two leather coasters thrown in. The glove feels good, looks good, looking forward to shooting it more.

This thread has been running since Febuary....I love it... they are very deserving!
They make a GREAT product.... and not just shooting gloves.... :campfire:
I love the look of the bison "cuff" style arm guard they make. I think Howard Hill would love to get hold of one of them.
I think that Buffalo arm guard will be a close friend for many years.
:campfire: :coffee: :archer2:
Ok, I looked at their websight and not much explanation for inserts, what a crossover is etc.I want to switch to a glove. School me on these!
Lori called me and answered all my questions! Mobil devices do not fully load their website.
After well over a 1000 arrows at the TN Classic, I have blisters under my calluses...
A Kangaroo Krossover is on the way!
Their Big Shot has nylon on the fingers, the Crossover comes standard with plastic stripes between the leather. They made me a custom Kangaroo Crossover with Buffalo leather as the middle layer. Feels and looks great. I'm confident it will be my main glove. Like the nylon on my Elk Big Shot, as well. I'm a tab shooter from way back and will probably never quit hunting with my nylon faced tab.
:campfire: :coffee: :archer2:
ONE MORE NOTE: The modified custom Kangaroo Crossover I had made took about a week and a half to get to my house. It works great and if you're a leather glove guy, think it will fit right in. Been shooting at 15-18 yards with Big River recurve, in four arrow groups and many have all feathers touching. Great product.
:campfire: :coffee: :archer2:
Hear Ye Hear Ye! great product for sure. :archer2:
I don't think I'll need another glove for the foreseeable future. The modified Kangaroo Crossover without plastic insert is most likely the best leather glove I have shot. It will be my go to, in those situations were a glove makes more sense. Definitely a Superior product. American Leathers is even willing to work with you on making a custom glove "for you".
:campfire: :coffee: :archer2:
That was my experience. Slightly smaller finger stalls and a margin nally longer, wider wrist strap. Good folk with a great product.
I was going to wait until the '22-'23 season was over until I replaced my Elk Big Shot, but now I think I might go ahead and get an order in for a modified Kangaroo.
