[attachment=1]So after a couple days of sleet and snow on Wednesday and Thursday, I thought I would get out for a bit to look around in the snow. Figured I could use the exercise but also don't get a lot of chances to see trails in the snow.
I wandered quite a bit. Found some deer beds in a few places I expected and some I didn't. There were other creatures that had been wandering also. Only coyote track I came across.
Then across that field I found where the turkeys had crossed.
On the back hill I found quite a bit of activity
I ended up a bit farther than I planned. Covered about 3.5 miles in 6" of snow. My knees and hips were feeling it by the time I got back. I've been living on the place for 59 years and am still learning new things about the patterns here. When I was a kid, it was a big deal just to find a deer track. Now last fall I killed my best buck ever here.
I found this last set of tracks on my way back. Any help on identifying what made them?
Nice pics!! Let me know when you figure out that second to last pic...
if thats not a possum track, it might be armadillo..if i could see it closer :o
It's not a possum track. I know what they look like and these are small. 1/2" and only couple inches apart. You can see how they went in a straight line across the field. I got the tip of my longbow in the pic by accident for size reference
looks like tail drag marks, maybe a wood rat
Good pics danny

After spending some time researching, the best I can come up with is weasel tracks.
Fun stuff for sure. Thanks for sharing. Jawge
Beautiful, just beautiful. Thanks. :campfire:
Been awhile since I took a walk in the snow!!! Thanks for taking me back.

Looks like a good time! I had plans to get out for a little while today...cancelled due to the need for some roof repair. Tuesday will be my next opportunity to wander a bit.
