Title: Bear takedown limb question
Post by: 9 Shocks on December 28, 2021, 07:44:58 PM
If you have an A riser and #3 limbs that are 45@28, are they actually closer to 47@28? I have read the different riser/limb combos have changed the poundage of the bow but I couldn't find any definitive info.

I figured someone here would know?

When someone says they have a set of 45# limbs, you need to ask how the limbs are actually marked.  For example, some are marked 47# on an A riser, 45# on a B riser.  Others are marked 45# on an A riser, 43# on a B riser.  It's written on the bottom of the limb butts as well as on the back on the base of the top limb.  Just need to check with the vendor/seller as to which he's referring to when he says he has a 45# bow

And even tho they may be marked at a certain poundage they could still be off. I have a pair marked 55# that are actually 51#.

That, too. That can occur with any bow, of course.  :bigsmyl:

I second Orion. The best way is to try your combo on a scale.
