The guy at the local archery shop was doing some cleaning up the other night and this is what I brought home.
Can anyone identify this? Know where I can get a manual or some info on it? I'm not sure if all the parts are there or what.
Any ideas?

I called Apple Archery supply and the lady wasn't sure if it was thier jig or not. they only make one type now and this aint it.
Thanks,
Todd
Anyone?????
Surely someone out there knows something about this.
Todd
looks like a endless string jig
It appears to me to be a Weldon 20....he is a somewhat famous stringmaker from Cleveland Oklahoma that I have heard of! :bigsmyl:
Not sure what it is. But if it is a string jig, you don't have all of it.
How long is it?
Goose
I'm with Goose, I don't think its a string jig. An endless jig would have a way to pivot the arms 90 degrees to finish the loops and a Flemish jig would have a series of pegs so the strands would taper into the string. And the lable says "Apple Trading Co." Not archery!
Bob
You might could rig it up and hang bows on it....
I got a buddy that make compound strings on one just like that
Goose,,,,,,,,it is around 72 in. long and 6 in wide.
wifishkiller,,,,,,it came from an archery shop and that is probably what it is for, just wish I could get some info on it or a manual on how to use it.
Could just go with madness522 and make a bow rack out of it.
Todd
I think that was most likely used to make steel cables back in the day. I had one similar, but it had the other parts for making endless strings as well. This is the only picture I have.

A friend has it now. I upgraded.
You could use yours for making flemish strings. It isn't that much trouble to hand taper the strands after you have the loop closed and are braiding the shank.
Passthru-- thanks for the pic and info. They probably never used that top piece and lost it or threw it out. But that is the piece I'm missing.
I have a good jig for making flemish strings and besides, this thing is huge. 6 ft long and weighs like 10 lbs.
Are you familiar with this 'Apple Trading Co' ?
Todd
It would be nice to be able to get some replacment parts or something for this maybe a manual
