Aloha Trad Gang! :shaka:
It's been awhile since I've been on here and recently decided to come back to hang out.
I took a break from traditional bowhunting, but slowly getting back to it.
I apologize for not have any info for the "Hawaiian Connection", as mentioned I haven't been in the hills with a stickbow much.
No more "hunting promotions", tuning info, etc..., just back to the campfire talk with the Gang. :campfire:
I'm currently shooting a Hoyt Satori since it was something that was in stock, but recently ordered a 52" Shrew Classic Hunter II.
My wife and I just moved to Kauai, so this first year will just be a bunch of scouting trips.
Looking forward to chatting with everyone!
Ryan
Hey Ryan,
Glad to see ya back man!! :wavey:

Thank you Kenny! :wavey:
Here's an image from my first scouting trip. I ended up stalking a billy that morning, but the cliffs were too crazy and felt that I wasn't going to be able to make a recovery (even if I made a good shot).

Hi Ryan, happy to hear from you again. I've always enjoyed your posts, and have used your tied-on nock ever since you made the video on how to tie it.
Agreed McDave! Will always use your pointers on tying a nock set. Looks beautiful Ryan! Aloha!

We took a slight detour and ended up on Kauai. Our plans for the mainland are on hold for now.
Aloha!
Ryan
Welcome back Ryan! I've missed your posts! Kauai is my favorite island. Can't wait to see your hunting stories!
Is most of the land you hunt done so with permission from land owners or is there vast amounts of public land? We do welcome you back! Hunts are what makes PowWow and your hunts are exciting!
Aloha brother. It has been a crazy couple years.

Hey Randy! Kauai is becoming our favorite too. Hopefully the bow hikes will turn into hunting stories. ;)

So far I've been only scouting public land. There's quite a bit of public land on this island. I wouldn't say it's the best hunting in Hawaii, but it sure is better than where we came from. I have a friend who has access to private land. Hopefully soon I'll be able to hunt there too.

Welcome back Ryan, I missed seeing your post and your videos.
Welcome Home Ryan it's been a long time since I've seen you here and sure do miss all the contributions you have made here. As others the tie on nock demonstration helped many here But one I really enjoyed was that string stretching jig you made inspired me to make one that I use for many things and not just for stretching strings .
I think I sent you a pm years ago about yours and here's mine but I had to set it on floor to take a picture of the entire Jig. Glad to see you again Ryan .

Welcome back Ryan. Still remember one of your early post with a picture of you flashing what was called a "gang sign" by a couple of members. I defended you on that post saying that it was a native greeting sign not a "gang sjgn". Always followed you after that. Glad your back. :biglaugh: :shaka:

Mahalo Roger! We're currently on the North end of the island. For one time Kauai got lucky. Just some steady rain, but no bad flooding here.
Take care! :shaka:
