Anyone have any feedback on the Union Jack by Bivouac Bow Co? Thinking about having one built but I'm not hearing much about them.
I believe that's Jim Belcher under a new company name. He's been making his Union Jack longbows for a long time.
Great bows .
I own 4 of them . Man, for a Hill style bow they are super quick .
Build quality is impeccable as always with Jim's bows .
I have never shot the Union Jack but I have handled them several times. Jim and his partner Georgia come to the Howard Hill shoot in Alabama. Their bows are very nice, the fit and finish is amazing.
Bivouac bow company
I first meet Jim and Georgia of Bivouac Bows at the K-zoo Mi trad bow expo. I walked by their booth and was very surprised when I picked up a Union Jack. The fit and finish was perfect , top quality craftsmanship. Georgia came up and asked me if I had any questions. I thought to myself just another sales girl , Boy was I wrong , she knew her bows inside and out. After talking with Her and Jim, I tried one out . At the range I was very surprised how the grip fit my hand , how smooth it drew and how well I shot it. I told them that I had a work related shoulder injury and they recommended a 66" Union Jack #40 @ 28 yew limbs , I ordered brown on the back and white on the belly.
I picking up the bow at their shop and they are now my favorite bows . I have a 66" Union Jack #43@28 with bamboo limbs black on the back and green on the belly. Both are fantastic shooters and the quality is second to none.
I had them make me a Lonestar which is a 50's style recurve and it is a dream to shoot. Again the quality is second to none.
In January I plan on ordering another Union Jack but it will be a take down model out of Osage , can't wait.
I wouldn't hesitate on getting any of their offerings . You will enjoy shooting the Union Jack.
Jim Belcher's "Union Jack" has been around for a number of years. I own and shoot a 60", 47@28 and consider it to be great shooting bow. I previously owned a 66" Union Jack, which was also a great shooter, but just a little to long for me. All of Jim's bows are built to hunt. The Union Jack is a quiet, quick, well designed string follow long bow that will fit the needs of most traditional archers.
