going through my hunting closet just discovered wool moths have almost destroyed my KOM jacket Ive had for 20+ years, this is like losing a close friend....
I instantly grabbed all my other wool clothing and through it in the freezer, so far its just my Ranchers jacket,
ordered pest strips, moth traps, spray, etc. THIS IS WAR!!!!
any helpful advice? checking mounts now... aaargggg
That stinks! Sorry to hear
I have all my wool in a tub with each in its own space bag. They're the bags that are like big zip locks with a one way valve to purge the air.
I bought two cedar chests BIG and I've had 40+ years of hunting wool kept in them no bugs
And they were inexpensive
Especially compared to what we put into wool
velvet caribou is infected lot of the velvet on top points is gone only minor damage to cape, bagged and debugging , now, other mounts appear to be ok, but will be watching them closely,
pay close attention to your wool and your mounts this happened fast!
maybe, just maybe you might have too many mounts and Camo to keep good tabs on them? Hint, I already know you do!
Brother it scares me to start adding up the $ in this house, mounts , clothes, bows, firearms, flyrods, etc.
I just called our insurance agent and put another 150K rider on our house policy, because the first 150 wouldnt cover it.
fricken 1/4" moth has done some serious damage here , now a goat mount, this place is going to look like a nuclear attack when Im done....
