Recently retired and ready to hunt out of state, especially hogs / javalina . Bear too. Been to Texas 4 times but it's been 20 years.
Any Tradgang hunts coming out that a guy can get in on?
Thanks

me too !!
Congratulations on retirement, I'm right at about 10 months behind you
I quit my 40 a week job a year ago but not really retired. I have trouble not having something going, and a lot of folks wanting help with something.
So I work in the bow parts shop, and help somebody when I can. The helping people is about to end til January tho... :biglaugh:
Congrats to all you retired folks!!
I retire officially in May. Then I am giving myself a Canada bear hunt as a retirement gift. I also plan on several more retirement gifts each year in the form of hunting trips. I have worked hard for 50+ years. I have earned my retirement.
I retired two years ago this week. People said that my historical fast paced life would never allow me to sit idle. They were wrong. I left the next day after my retirement party for a three week Colorado vacation and never went from 100 to zero in one day.
I still get a few calls from both former associates and my clients from time to time; but I've never regretted retirement....never will. The only thing that I wish was different is many of my old friends either don't have the time, resources, or health to make the out of trips that I have always planned for. It's a bit of a bummer to do it alone.
Just don't do what I did, and let your buddy who owns a ranch talk you into going back to work as his Ranch Manager! As far as jobs go, it's about as good as it gets, but man, I'm missing all the time I had for the 8yrs I was retired!!!

Congrats on the retirement , I've been retired for 3 years and loving it, the pay sucks but the hours are great. I pretty much lived in the woods hunting during our seasons.
Scroll down in the menu and look for Laredo Tusker Hunt. There might be an opening. Promises of a target rich ranch for javelina.
I believe there is an opening or two in the Laredo hunt. There is a week-one group and then a week-two group. I went last year and I am going again this year. There are javelina and tons of them. They are spooky and a challenge -- a great hunt.
Congrats on your retirement John. Enjoy!
Im wrapping up 32.5 years with the Feds on Aug. 31st. Looking forward to a nice Fall, carrying stick and string on a daily basis. :archer:
