Hey guys, my 11 year old son has been shooting with me for a few years. He has the basics down but now needs to get a bigger bow.
The Stalker Weasel is the only one on my radar. Are there other companies that offer youth bows?
When do you step up to an 'adult' bow of low poundage?
Sure, Maddog Traditinal Achery. He's a sponsor on here.
My son shoots a Maddog pup, and it is awesome...it's a scaled-down version of an adult longbow.
I would think the appropriate time to "step up" to an adult bow would be more based on draw length and overall body build rather than age. Most youth bows I've checked out seem to mention draws of 24" or 26".

Agree, call each of the Sponsors mentioned here and they will happily answer your questions and steer you to the correct choice! Best wishes
Maddog Pup.
I know Randy at Primal Tech made his young daughter a nice one. She can out shoot me with it.
St Joe River has really nice kids bows that shoot great.
Another vote for Mad Dog Pup.

Blake, on the left is 10 and loves his Pup. His 9 yr old Brother shoots one as well. [attachment=1]
My grand kids have had a couple Maddog Pups over the years and they really liked them. Nice bows. :archer2:
Give Bob Sarrels a look. He is on Facebook and makes great bows. PM me if you need his phone number.
Thanks guys
My kids have 2 Maddog's and a Great Plains Osagian (from 3 Rivers). All three bows shoot great. The Maddog's cost less, the finish work on the Great Plains is beautiful.
We like St Joe river bows in our house. They are well made, come in a variety of cool colors for the kids to choose from, and they offer a trade in/upgrade program as your kid grows. We will be picking up another one at ETAR this year. Kids grow to fast!

I hate to say this but we will not be at ETAR. This last year has been so busy and they are sold as fast as Tracey completes them, we just do not have stock built ahead to go to ETAR. Give Tracey a call and we can get what you need going for you. 517-617-3658
Stalker Stickbows.
Bow man, that's a bummer, but I am happy that Tracey is keeping busy with orders! Thank you for the update!
Anyone make a children's hill style bow?
Check Mike McCredy's Mad Dog bows.
