Title: Reminiscing about leather crafting.
Post by: Pine on June 26, 2021, 03:42:45 PM
So today I was cutting out a new knife sheath and started thinking about the first leather project I did.
It was a zippered coin purse I made for my mom.
It was probably 55 years ago and I was about 10 at the time.
It was a kit from Tandy Leather and all I had to do was tool the leather and lace it together.
The zipper was sewn on to a piece of leather that had holes punched in to lace to the main piece.
All I'm going to say about how it came out is;
When working with leather, especially while lacing and pulling the stitches tight, make sure you wash your hands before you work on it.  :laughing:

Been a half as....ed leather worker for years. Mostly making my own quivers for family and myself. Tried a simple arm guard once, that turned out lousy. Just finished up another back quiver, partly laced, partly hand sewn. Working a matching hip quiver. [attachment=1]
