Title: woodys for elk...grain weight

so how many of you guys use wood for hunting elk...and what is your grain weight...i am shooting 525grs out of a 52# bow...is that good for elk...thanks..

They have been killed with less and killed with more so I'd say your good to go. Just put it were it belongs. Good luck and take care.

I use nothing but wood arrows and straight longbows for elk. Your setup will work fine if properly tuned, but I prefer a bit more — 600 gr from a 55-60 lb bow.

It will work just fine if you do your part...bh type and sharpness will mean more...that said I like 600gn out of mid 50s bows.

I have gone down in draw weight a bit this year but still shooting near the 600gn mark

I think your perfect I used that same arrow and bow weight for years .

Last year 525 gr cedar, feathers held it in on my 5x5. This year 600 gr surewoods
