There were right at 400 registered shooters, that includes those that shot more than one class, BUT, still a great turnout.
This was way more than the last two years, and more than the two previous years before.
I don't know if the forecast Saturday & Sunday slowed some that would have come, but until Friday, the forecast was great, then BOOM, lots of rain was supposed to hit Saturday & Sunday. Didn't rain at all Saturday.

I absolutely hate that I hade to miss it !!! I had to turn in my daughter 's leased car and re-lease another onen for her. I almost got in trouble as i completely forgot about it!!!
Excellent event! Tell us Terry, what's been the best attendance in all your years doing the Classic? Our second round had us behind several groups I figured it was an average turnout. Awesome none the less!

Howard, let me give you a run down in approximates and exacts over these past 17 years.
My first HH Classic was 274 shooters, my 2nd was approximately 350. for a few years it was in the mid to upper 400's, and for many years after that it averaged approximately 500 shooters.
The 13th & 14th it was slightly under 400, the weather forecast was horrible.
The 15th I had the IBO Mid America here during the HH Classic, and we had 294 shooters, the second lowest turnout since the first. Last year was 227 shooters, I personally think having to reschedule to July and the scare of Covid had a lot to do with that.
I feel the weather that changed Saturday (earlier in the week and as late as Friday, it had been a very low chance of rain), the change during Saturday morning may have affected more shooters that were planning to come. The radar showed a very large swath of rain heading toward us in the morning (NEVER RAIN ON US SATURDAY). It did, however, rain nearly all morning on Sunday.
I hoped this may explain what was still a great turnout.

Thanks again Terry for the most fun I've had in a long time. Everything was perfect. I had a great time.
As usual, it was a lot of fun. It was good to see a bunch of folks I hadn't seen in a while. The course was well laid out, but as is so often the case, I still didn't shoot very well. Terry, along with those who help him, puts on a great event. I wish there were more like it that were a bit closer to me. I have been a regular attendee since the 3rd ever Howard Hill event he sponsored and have greatly enjoyed all of them.

Wow, thanks for breaking it down that's interesting and yes I was concerned about the weather myself but had planned on passing through to visit my Mother anyway. Once again you nailed it and pass a word of thanks to all involved. Looking forward to next year already!
Excellent course Terry. As good as any IBO I have shot and better than most. Target distances were good. The shoot off format got more shooters involved. You found ways to keep shooters of all skill levels involved. Thanks
