It's a gorgeous day here at my house, and I've been shooting great all day!

I've had two beers today, and two shots and this happened. Maybe I should have two more often instead of two too many!

Last robin hood I got was when I was a kid,and the sound is exactly the same. It sounds like paper tearing. I knew as soon as it hit!

I forgot to mention that I hit exactly where I was aiming on the first shot as well. I popped the top off one of those flowers, and then aimed at the back of the first arrow.

Did that once with carbons, OUCH!!!  Once with tapered Cedar, split a nock and had about a 6" sliver with a piece of nock still on it.  Glad I'm not that good a shoot and it doesn't happen much.

I've bought so many arrows off the classifieds that it doesn't bother me that much Mike. It's a great feeling. I guess if I start doing it with any regularity I'll stop, but for now....

Aluminum is tougher with the tapered point.
One for the wall!  Congratulations!

Thanks guys.

How could you tell it was it a tapered glue on Gerald? I didn't think the picture was that good.

Maybe my ignorance.   I've only ever used aluminum that was tapered ended.  What's that called?  Swaged?
I have a few from back in the day when I shot modern bows a lot.  But popped nocks were much more common as that tapered end would allow it to glance off.
I've considered going back to aluminum.  Been 17 years since I've shot them.

Those look like vanes that's why. Vanes will do it every time. :-)

They are feathers Whittler. I think they are called Ozark.

Ok Gerald. When I was a kid that's all they had as well. Now they have the push in adapter type. You can take these kind and cut the tapered end off,and buy the insert and turn them in to the others. The only thing I like about the push in type is you can adjust your nock. I put all these nocks on first and then flethced, and they came out off,but they shoot so I haven't adjusted them.

PERFECT!  There's 2 arrows you won't get to pull from the target again.  Nice Shooting!
