Title: Transporting Bows?
Post by: MattfromVT on April 21, 2021, 11:11:39 AM
Hi Gang,

I got my wife into archery during the pandemic (thanks COVID?) and she's going to be shooting some 3D events with me and my son this summer. In years past it's been my son and I in a small sedan with only one adult bow so I'd stash it wherever it fit in the car. This year I got a Ram 1500 quad cab so I'll be able to put the bows in the back. I have a cover but obviously don't want them rolling around back there. I'm looking for a way to secure two adult recurves with bow quivers. How do you guys transport bows in your trucks?

Thanks!

In the bed, as a minimum I'd put a good thick blanket folded over the bows.

I have a tanto cover on my truck and put my bow inside an old sleeping bag.

Schedule 40 pipe with one end sealed and the other with a screw on cap. Depends on the size of the bow, I put the black pipe insulation inside of the pipe for extra padding.

I make a bow case that holds a strung bow with a quiver full of arrows and the fletching can stick out the side so they don't get flattened. It also doubles as a takedown case. It's called a Transformer and you can look at it on safarituff.com . I am a new sponsor on the Tradgang.
