For the past 15 years the S.T.A.R. shoot, or Sherwood Traditional Archery Rendezvous has been held at Sherwood Archers in Roanoke, Va. We get a good turn out of archers from Va., Pa., W.Va., NC, etc. I know a lot of you guys have been to our shoot in the past. We strive to put on a good shoot for all of our shooters and make sure everyone has fun. Recently the Professional Bowhunters Society reached out to me to see if we were interested in hosting a P.B.S. Odd Year Gathering at the same time. Sounds like a good idea for both organizations so we are going to go forward with trying to make it happen. The shoot is scheduled for June 5 & 6, 2021 so you guys can put it on your calendars.

Really glad to see this shoot happen this year-just what we all needed to see. Haven't missed any since this shoot started and it is most excellent-if you son't get enough shooting its your own fault. But bring boots for the 3d as it tends to be hilly and depending on weather slick. Come out and enjoy a great shoot. :shaka:
This is looking like it is going to be a great event. We will have our S.T.A.R. as we have done for years and the Professional Bowhunters Society will have an Odd Year Gathering at the time. We are already getting some nice donations for the P.B.S. raffles and the raffle bow for the S.T.A.R. shoot this year will be one of the new Bear Mag. takedown bows.
Fadi Bahouth will be giving a seminar at the shoot on locating wounded game with a tracking dog. Ethan Rodrigue and Dalton Lewis from the Stickboys will also be giving a seminar on filming your bow hunt. Both will be very informational and enjoyable.

Our kitchen will be serving Bratwursts this year for lunch both days.
Saturday at 1:00 Fadi Bahouth will be giving his tracking dog presentation and at 3:00 Ethan Rodrigue and Dalton Lewis from the Stickboys will be giving a presentation on filming your hunts.
We will draw the P.B.S. bucket raffles Saturday afternoon so the guys can take their winnings home.
We are also raffling off a Camo riser Bear takedown that we will draw for on Sunday afternoon.
Hotel reservations made and am looking forward to this....
Only been once, but this is a good shoot. Its nice and hilly so most all targets had a good backstop for when I missed. Wish I could go this year, but work is sending me to California.
Just go home from this shoot and it was great to see old friends and new in a free environment. Didn't sell any of my bows but did find a little Herter's for the grandsons so well worth the trip. My bodyguard was with me (read wife) to keep in line-as best she could. My hats off to all the people who made this shoot possible to come out and enjoy their efforts. Next year maybe that d**n bear might not elude my arrow-Yes Duane I do mean you!! Seriously this was a fun time and always look forward to it each year.
