Awhile back between my bad knee and a slip on the ice that injured my back I hadn't pulled the string on my Shrew Classic Hunter II for awhile. Strung it up and enjoyed sending arrow after arrow into the target. Super smooth bow to shoot and I can't say enough good things about my Shrew bow!!!! It's waiting for me to become a better shot :) After awhile I decided to string up my new Northern mist Classic. I hadn't shot this one yet.... now I've read and read about ASL's and heard the good and the bad. I really wanted this bow to work for me..... so I pulled a beautiful crested arrow out of the quiver that I got from Ted at Raptor archery slid it on the string and pulled it back and found my mark..... and HIT IT!!!! First shot out of that bow went exactly where I intended at the center of the ten ring!!!! I proceeded to put the remaining eleven arrows in about a 5" circle. I like my Shrew but this ASL and I really shoot well together. In all I had a very fun and relaxing afternoon...... wish they were all like that :) I look forward to spending more time with the NM Classic....... I have drank from the ASL well and want more!!!! :bigsmyl:
That's a good feeling! I have a ramer that I shoot well.

I bought it from NY State Land (Stacy) a member here a few weeks ago. Talked to Mr Turay (a great guy) and ordered new crested arrows for it from Ted. My Shrew isn't going anywhere but I am hooked by this new style of bow. Don't know if I'll ever shoot a recurve again. Prolly will cause I still want a Silvertip but I've never in my life picked up a new to me style read bow and drilled the target like that.
It's a great feeling for sure especially after being off for awhile. I looking forward to my chance at that feeling a week from today.
Hope it goes well for you bud.....
Fitter, I hate to say it, but I think you're hooked!!! I shot recurve for years, and said I could never shoot one of those straight griped bows, too much hand shock. I now currently own seven of the bows Steve makes, with another on the way. :goldtooth: My Classic always seems to be the one I grab first, and seems to hit where I'm looking consistently. I enjoy shooting all bows, but there's just something about an ASL that just draws you to it.

Good to hear you are back at it. Also Stacy is a great guy to deal with! I bought one of my first ASLs from him a few years ago and it definitely has some mojo! Good luck with the Mists...they are addicting. mg
Glad to hear you're back out and slinging arrows. There's nothing like a session where everything clicks like that!
Thanks

Once you drink the ASL Kool-Aid, you are hooked. Welcome to the club.
Yes Sir I'm already looking for another..... one is a odd number :bigsmyl:
