Interesting, he shares a birthday with my better half...his last birthday was my wife's first!

Happy Birthday to my favorite archery icon!  Papa Bear has always made me proud to be a Michigan Man.  Bear Archery started in Detroit in 1933 and moved 'Up North' to Grayling in 1947.  I was devastated when they moved Bear Archery to Gainesville, Fl in 1978.  Fred passed and went to the Happy Hunting Grounds on April 27, 1988.  His cremated remains were scattered along the South Branch of the Au Sable River near Grayling, MI where Fred loved to spend his spare time fly fishing.

I really enjoy the photos of the old greats. I am not a recurve shooter, but Fred Bear is a hero of mine, also.
