Who has given them a couple seasons of heavy workout? I spend a lot of time year round in the swamp and always thinking about my next pair. I prefer sending my money to one of our fine Sponsors.
They are on my list.... for the swamps....

Terry, I was thinking the same thing about getting a pair before Fall. Heh, Schuster needs all the help he can get. Have you heard when their hiking boots are going to be out?
No, haven't even heard about a hiking boot.... but I've been hiking a lot in these and I like them a lot.... no break in, 1st during bear season in the rugged Cohutta Wilderness, and a week long hunt in TX stalking all day, and around town and in the yard. No blisters, no hot spots, no fatigue, and very stable and supportive. Just trying to give them a good wear test now.
7" Infinity FD

My friend has some and loves them. They are on my list as well. :readit:
Looking at 7" boot and rubber boots. Perhaps black hiking boots for work. Better start saving.
:coffee: :campfire: :archer2:
Actually, in the hunting category, only the bird hunting boots are made-in-USA. Thorogood will make twice as many boots in the USA this year than they did in 2019 (two new factories) but expanding in the USA is extremely difficult. Also, the midsoles used on a lot of technical boots like the Infinity series can't legally be made here because of EPA regulations. That is why most American-made footwear has a very traditional look like the old green Browning boots or our work boots. Thorogood probably makes more USA boots than anyone else out there right now but I don't now that for sure. About 70 percent of their total business is domestic, but we will always make boots overseas. Let's face it - many folks say they want to buy USA but the biggest footwear and apparel companies make nothing here and most folks won't or can't pay for American-made products.
There is no hiking boot on the horizon that I know of - the closest is the one that Terry posted, which is pretty close to a traditional hiking boot. I don't see Thorogood making an REI/Solomon type hiking boot. Just not really, what they do. For the record, I do not work directly for Thorogood, I own the agency that reps them in the southeast as independents. Great company and dedicated to domestic manufacturing as much as possible.
I have heard good things, and I'm looking at buying them next as mine are on their last leg.
My wear test is going great. I've had my Infinitys since October, and they are sure taking a beating from me, and still look great. I ran around for 5 days in TX like a wild man chasing Javies all day as our hunt was insane with Javies. No issues with the boots at all, and laughed at all the cactus spikes.
I got mine as a Birthday present, and I could not be happier.
I've been wearing their work boot for about ten years now and finally had to buy my second pair.
No grib, mine aren't insulated. Did you even read the title? Call them what ever you want, I hike a lot when I hunt. And some of which is pretty rugged.
Yes, as a matter of fact I did read the title. And I liked the looks of the boot enough to Google Thorogood 7" Infinity FD and every hit I opened (including their website) had specs. of 400 grams of Thinsulate. It's possible they make uninsulated and I just didn't dig deep enough. If so, pardon me for living Terry!
Thorogood Men's Infinity FD 7" Waterproof Hunting Boots
These are the ones that are uninsulated olddogrib.
Thanks Randy. I just Googled that boot and on Thorogood's own site it lists that "Water-proof" model as having 3M Thinsulate insulation. I realize it's Terry's site, but that doesn't give him the right to be an azz...I've been on here nearly 20 years.
Grib, your reading WAY to much into my typed words. There is no inflection in the typed word,,.... and THAT is the biggest issue with message boards. I prefer Hiking boots to old timely hunting boots. MUCH more positive foot bed, comfort and stability. I hunted and fish out of a bass boat wearing One Sport Morans for 8 years. They were the only through hiking boot on the Appalachian Trail at the time. I don't know if any other boot has done that since. To bad they quit making them.
Sorry If you took offense, none intended. :campfire:
Fine, but I still can't figure out why I'm Googling 7" Thorogood Infinity Waterproof Hunting boot and can't find a version that doesn't list 3M Thinsulate as a component.
OK hold on.....
Matt Schuster is a friend of mine, hunting bud, and a representative for Thorogood. Email him and he will help you in any way you need it...... and tell him I sent you.

Hey Olddog, the uninsulated version is the 864-4087 7 inch. The do run big - not necessarily longer than your normal size just big in volume. I have rather narrow feet so I put a flat cheap insole under a good insole and they fit perfectly. If you google that number, you will find them on Amazon and other places. I will be chasing elk in them next week in Utah.
I can attest to that as well. Mine were a bit wide for me, lenght perfect. I only noticed while side hilling. Matt told me to to that very thing, so I did and snugged up the laces over the top of my foot just a tad, and they are perfect now.
Matt, thanks. Every Google hit I was getting listed 3M Thinsulate in the specs. This was followed by numbers that I didn't realize were other TG styles that had it...a bit confusing.
This was posted earlier in this thread, not sure how it could have been missed.

Wondering if anyone with wide feet have tried these..
I have ordered boots from all over the world... literally! with promise of boots being wide to no avail. If I had the bucks, I would start my own rubber boot company for people with wide feet.

I text Matt for you and alerted him of you question.
I just got this in an email from Thorogood and thought I'd share.

Yeah, I got that too last weekend. Still beating the crap out of mine, and they are laughing at me! Gotta love great gear!
I picked up some insulated rubbers. Great boots. If I had the money I'd have bought several pairs. Boots were amazing
how are those infinity uninsulated boots in terms of weight?
