Loading up my Waldrop pack for it's first trip as a pack frame. Headed to Granger to pester some hogs. Hammock and accessories, few wool clothes, seven extra arrows in a GFA besides the GN strap-on for my Big River LB, shrew hawk, two TK custom knives, couple of thick garbage bags to hopefully pack out some pork. Looks to be a fresh few days in middle Texas. Ash Wednesday through Sunday. 30-40 degrees and maybe some flurries. Let's get it on. Hopefully some LDP's and scenery.

Sounds grand! Good luck... hopefully you'll be sharing some awesome pics upon your return.
Best of luck
Good luck , I grew up near there. Snow flurries...say what!!!
Yeah, I had to get out the dictionary to see what they were!!!
:biglaugh:
North Central Texas has had some good snow on the ground this year.

Good luck and please post pics with meat packed out. I have not seen any pics like that yet.
Yes, I was in Fredericksburg on New Years week, had some snow there too. Doesn't happen very often....have fun over there & be safe.
Making some adjustments in apparel cause we'll probably have a couple nights in the teens.

I like my pac seat, deer hunted it a bunch, enjoy, Mike
So far really impressed with how great a pack frame it's turning out to be. Think I can get 30-35# on it no worries. Hunt with just the seat and a rain jacket strapped to it.

Waldrop seat makes a fair pack frame, can't recommend loading it down like I did. @40#!!! Next time I'll probably wear my Bison Gear Lost River loaded up with everything strapped to it and carry the seat. As a hunting seat it is awesome. The pic shows all I had strapped on. Twice what I needed. Had everything I needed in the Lost River didn't need the extra 30 liter water proof bag. Especially hiking in on a muddy, slick trail. Nice test of my new sleeping mat and over quilt.
Think there are hogs here. This crater is about 4' across and about 18" deep.
Looks like I'm hunting in PA not TX. This is two days after the snow and much is melted away. There was 8" on the ground.
Expected results! I really like my pak seat!

I could fit enough in the Lost River for a couple days of cold weather. Strap the hammock on bottom, Nemo sleeping mat and quilt weight ounces, so that is how I'll roll in future, haul even less in warmer weather. Overall great experience. Big River longbow with GN full carried like a Fenwick fly rod.
Looking forward to the next trip. Put what I learned to use, pack it better and more securely. Doing some experimenting with loading and pack attachment.

Yep, those seats are great.
