Hello all,

I'm considering a Great Plains Longbow, and wondered if anyone shoots one, and your thoughts?

Regards,
Mike

Glad you asked this. I'm sort of thinking about the three piece take down. Which one you thinking of? I think he has a more traditional d shape one,and then one with a little more reflex shown when strung.

Wish I could help. Actually considering a 3 piece LB myself. Only 3 piece I have any experience with is the A&H LB and another made by a friend of mine In San Diego. The A&H is not on my budget and Kevin doesn't make bows anymore. I can the say the added weight of the riser helped me keep the bow steady. Like a heavy riser on a 3 piece recurve. Wish I could help more.

I have the Great Plains all Osage 3 piece longbow. It's a nice bow and I shoot it lot. I like the way Osage gets darker with age.

Actually the statement they are not popular isn't true. I have 2 of them and they were great shooting bows. I wish I had not sold my B model as it fit great, but life circumstances were different then. I think they are a great bow.

Great choice of bows and wonderful people to do business with!  You wont be disappointed if you get one.

For some reason they are not made in the heavy numbers of others.
Could be demand or could be production limits.
If memory serves me, they have been around for about 30 years.

They have been in business as long as I have been in Texas.  Got here in 1992.
