The KY deer season's last day was Monday. Already much to do such as pulling 72 cameras, 42 stands and several ground blinds. Repositioning cams for scouting, taking soil samples, brush cutting and scouting a new 500 acre lease in another state. There are many other immediate activities such as consistent training of deer tracking pup. She made her first successful recovery on her first downed deer Sunday night at 3 ½ months old.
Have already started and need to maintain focus as hunting long beards is heavy on my mind. There is no boredom in the winter here as I thoroughly enjoy strategizing, the implementation and both seeing and experiencing the failures and successes.
Hope your winter finds many of you deeply immersed in your passion.
Ours is over too. I think we are putting our place on the market. Looking to upgrade to a bigger place. A lot of work and money invested the last four and a half years. Looks like it may pay off.
Oh to be young, healthy, and that fired up again! :notworthy:
On the other corner of Kentucky I didn't set any cameras and the stands hopefully will be there next season. Guess I'm officially old. Best of luck Friend.
This was my second season, and no deer were harvested this year. I did pass on a small buck multiple times...a new experience with trad equipment!
Looking forward to making a couple of 3-D shoots this summer.
I hope to get to several 3-D shoots this year and then hunt Government property. Maybe make a trip South for Nalgai!!!
