Wanting to go Purchase a pathfinder in Timber ghost. Does anyone know if they still make them Contacted them through email They said they would be out of them until the start of the new year but then I had a moment of déjà vu seems like I had this same encounter with them a few years ago kept checking the website and never saw them back in stock. Sent a follow-up email to see if I could pre-order but did not get a reply Thanks
I personally would find a way to call them and see if they'll accept a special order for that color.
I too have had less than a stellar response by email, like asking 2 specific questions and getting an answer to a 3rd question ... that was .. uhhhhh, not asked. Don't people READ anymore, is it truly a 'lost art'? From their lack of response, I took my $$ elsewhere and bought a vintage Woolrich that checks most of the boxes I wanted, less the hood. It's sad, really ...
Same issues with email. Wanted a jacket without a hood in a certain pattern in which three emails (attaching the previous emails with each new contact attempt) without response. I kind of got the idea email is just a one way communication for them to send you a "sale".
I love the wool and greatly respect the Asbell's and I know I could just call them; but I've never considered email an optional response communication method if you have one. I guess I'm just funny like that.
You guys should understand you aren't dealing with some large company here. G.F. and his wife run the business with few or no employees.

That's absolutely no excuse whatsoever ... in fact, poor one to boot, as my experience with small companies is exactly the opposite of that - 99.9% go out of their way to be incredibly responsive to their clientele!
I can understand your frustrations, I had a bit of a hiccup with my order. But I called them and they were fantastic to deal with and really went out of their way to make sure everything was good. I have to think knowing some of the people I deal with in my industry, they are maybe not super experts on the technology but certainly try.
If a quick call clears it up, I would rather just do that and make sure that everyone is happy. Besides I always enjoy talking to great people in other parts of the world.
Many business owners choose to do things differently. After all, that's the perk of owning a small business, right? I think it is all of the customers' choice (obviously) to patronize their business, or not. Many customers in many areas of the US, have different perceptions of how business should be conducted based on their individual experiences, the business or career they may be in, and to some degree, their upbringing.
After close to thirty-years in the automotive industry with all of the large OEMs as my customers, I know they are extremely demanding. In that world, if you drop the ball, you're most likely looking for other employment options.
If you use this relationship as a baseline to measure all businesses, you would be VERY disappointed and feel everyone is horrible. Personally, I have to remove myself from my initial gut reaction, take a step back, and consider my audience (the business).
Couple that with the fact that the Asbell's are not spring-chickens, I think they do a pretty darn good job!! Just think about how you would treat your parents or grand parents, and adjust accordingly!!
One thing you may not know, Fred is NEVER in the work shop sewing garments. Teresa does most of the work with some occasional help from her daughter in-law. This is her busy time of year and when she's working she's not reading emails. It would be best to give her a call.
I talked to Teresa today. She's been working in the shop since early this morning. She said some of her emails are going into her spam which is a problem so if you don't get a response to an email then call. her.
I just looked through the website and saw that several patterns that used to show up are not there. Have they discontinued some of the patterns or is my memory faulty?
Some have been temporarily discontinued because she's waiting for wool.

Or the sheep are in quarantine due to covid.
Just kidding.
I have always had good luck getting in touch with Teresa. And the products are top notch. Give her a call.
I've never had any trouble w product or using email
I've had similar lack of response...If you can't, or don't want to answer emails, then you shouldn't offer that option.
I've been wanting a Pathfinder. I saw my size in Highlander, and thought I would order it,so I just did with pay-pal off their website. I'll see how it works out :coffee:
I have several of their products and they are great. I did have one where the stitching pulled out . When I asked Teresa about it and she took it home and repaired it then mailed it back to me She makes great stuff and is great to work with.
I have more wool hunting clothes, than I know what to do with LOL!! However and unfortunetly, no Asbell wool...
I've been looking at their wool poncho, remembering all of those unexpected nights in the woods.
Sure would have been nice, to roll up in a "blanket"!!!
I'm interested in a large Pathfinder in Timber Ghost. I have a red/brown XL (when I got in 4 years ago, it was called "Northern Lights", but the current pattern by the same name is a different color) that I love, but since I've lost a few pounds the XL is a bit too roomy! I exchanged a few emails with Teresa, but I'm in no big hurry. It's a busy time of year for people and it's a popular color, so I'm sure it'll be back in stock sometime before next fall. Good things come to those who wait (and, as trad bow hunters, we should know a little about patience)!!
