Hey all, I've finally got my 41# Kodiak Magnum shooting great with 175 grain heads. My next step is to buy broadheads and get in the woods. What 2 blade, 175 grain broadheads would work well out of this lighter bow? I've seen a lot of 150 and 200 grain but not many 175. Any recommendations would be great. Thanks!
I have a few 2 edge Zwickey Eskimos on aluminum broadhead adapters that weigh approx.175 grains you can try out. PM me your address and I'll send them to you.
A 125 gr broadhead epoxied on a 45 gr aluminum broadhead adapter will give you 175 gr. There are also some very good 1piece broadheads that weigh in at 175 gr.
Simmons Swampshark
Zwickey on aluminum adapter as said earlier. Perfect head for your set up
Grizzly.
I am assuming you are screwing your broadheads into carbon shafts, and not gluing them on woodies?
I have used 175 grain Grizzly single bevels on my carbons and they zip right through the blacktail deer we have here.
Grizzly makes 175 glue on or screw on
I think vpa has one.
BearPaw German Jagers come in 175.
I have used the 125s (on 100gr inserts) with a few deer so far and like them. Haven't bent or broken one yet, although I don't abuse them other than hitting a few far side shoulders. Steel holds and keeps a good edge.
So far they are more durable and hold a much better edge than Magnus stingers I had used for years.
Another vote for Simmons!
Good luck, shoot straight and God bless,
Rodd
What shafts are you shooting? If carbon, then you could shoot an Ethics insert and adjust the insert weight.
Zwickey Deltas. 170 grain with short adapters.
Contact me if you need to buy some.

Simmons Swampshark!
Gold tip sells inserts weight. That is another suggestion
Woodsmans are available as a 175 grain screw in as well.
I give another vote for the German Jagers.
I have shot the VPA line for quite awhile now and find them to be easy to tune, easy to sharpen, hold an edge well and go thru deer quite easily.
My DAS is 45 lbs. @ 28" the arrow is 610 gr. with 25% FOC
There is a 175 grain two blade that will work for you.
Grizzly Instinct 3 blade I think has a 175 grain glue on.
I would look at the German Jaegers.Thiers some videos on you tube of them shooting through plywood etc.If you want to do a Google search. No playing around with inserts.Just screw em in and your good to go
Ace makes a great head and they are not expensive, easy to sharpen and mount easily.
There area a lot of great options out there today and many have already stated them. I and many others killed a lot of game with a Zwickey (sun never sets on a Zwickey), ACE- I have killed a lot of game with these as well. Grizzly broadheads are great too. I mention these heads because I have used them, reasonable price still, and easy to sharpen.

And all Made in the US by small companies!!! :clapper:
I've been using Cutthroats for a couple years so far and have been very happy with those. They're really durable, easy to sharpen and stay sharp; my only complaint is that they do rust easy, so I only use for early season. I'm still hoping they make some out of Stainless Steel.
Yet another vote for the Simmons Swamp shark. Just keep in mind that they run a little heavier than 175 gr. I've bought 18 of them over the last 2 months (cleaned out the broadhead box of lighter stuff I no longer use, & gave some to my son for Xmas) and each one weighed between 186-192 gr.
Not a big deal for the distances I would shoot,(20 yds and in,) but definitely more drop when you go further out....
(before anyone asks, yes, they were the Swamp sharks,(as labelled on the box,) & not the Interceptors!)
I emailed Dave just to let him know, & he thanked me for the info.
I think the swamp shark is the unvented tigershark. The swampshark is 190 non bented and the tigershark is vented and 175 grain
On the Simmons website, the Tiger Shark is vented and listed at 165 gr. The Swamp Shark is non-vented and listed at 175 gr.
Well, I haven't ticked anybody off for a while, so I guess I'm overdue. Other than being a cut on contact head, it needs to be strong, sharp, and must fly accurately. After that, most else is bragging rights to say that this or that famous point was used. Just my thoughts.
Can't slight that Sam.
That's just good sense.
Excellent choice; congratulations
