Hey new to tradgang here. I recently ordered a martin mh14 used longbow, problem is it showed up with a crack in the glass at the corner of the shelf. Any opinions appreciated. Repairable? Eat the shipping and return?
i wouldnt worry about it, a lot of bows have that little crack in the glass right in that corner.
a little thin super glue if you feel the need.
Shouldn't affect anything in that location. Linear cracks in older bows are rather common.

You're good. Start shooting!
420 super glue and keep an eye on it.
Did the seller not mention the crack? Don't know what you paid for it but maybe the seller would send you a rebate for not mentioning it.
It was posted as used. Nothing about the crack. I anticipated some scratches but not cracks. Sure got a chewing from the wife about it.
What to do is in my opinion how bad do you want that bow? The Locktite idea will work but it's not cheap or available just anywhere. I would contact the seller and see if you could get some compensation. If nothing else shipping costs if you decide to keep it. Then there is the "do I trust it" not to break issue.
Left alone it probably will never amount to anything detrimental.
It bugged you enough to post about it and it will continue to bother you. You will keep looking at that crack and wonder. Get ahold of the seller and see what they say. I would send it back if he didn't mention it at the time of the sale. We all know he knew it was there.
As for the condition of the bow, if someone like Big Jim says it shouldn't be a problem, I personally wouldn't be too concerned about it (the super glue option would give you more peace of mind).
As far as getting some kind of compensation from the buyer... at the end of the day, it never hurts to bring it up. There is a chance the seller was unaware of the crack and wasn't trying to be deceitful. But, if they don't want to deal with you, unless you had some kind of trial arrangement where you could thoroughly look it over before committing to the sale price, then you're left with send it back or keep it.
Burn it and buy another. I have nothing to add that hasn't already been said.
I looked up loctite420 and was reading reviews and came across this one.
Awesome product. My recurve bow partially delaminated. Did some research on how to fix my $800 custom bow and everyone kept mentioning about this product. Bought, tried it, and my bow seemed as it never delaminated. Highly recommend it.
That little spot pops up on Hill style bows from time to time. Shoot and don't worry about it. If you can hang a nail on it a little Loctite will seal it. Its 99.9% benign.
Thanks for all the input guys!
