Title: Its here !! my 90# yew ELB
Post by: Ari_Bonn on November 22, 2020, 12:35:50 PM
 :archer2:

Don't actually draw the full 31" its about 29.5" war bow draw and 26.5 index to mouth so  high 80's and high 70's.

Haven't finished the arrows I was making yet.  I have some spine wise that would already work but need far more mass weight for the bows sake.

I like ELB's, but I can no longer pull a bow that heavy. I used to be able to pull that kind of weight for just a few shots. It looks nice, exactly like what it was designed for - a killing machine. Will you hunt with it? 3D? How about your Robin Hood outfit? Do you have poplar arrows? So many questions simply because it is an ELB! I like it.

Now, that's an ELB, horn nocks and all. Well done!   Can we see an unbraced and full draw pic?
I made a 95#@31", yew ELB a few years back but I could only pull it about 15" so I gave it back to the guy that gave me the premium yew stave. At least he could pull it.

Ill get a full draw picture likely tomorrow when i can get someone to hold a camera.   got a bit of natural deflex and a slight bend to the left (will help it be slightly more center shot)

It's a beast for sure and for certain. My right shoulder hurts just looking at it...

Cool. I'd be embarrassed to see how far I could get that back...
