I'm heading to the cabin...
Why can't the world be like TradGang???
Our beloved country is so divided... There is no "middle ground" The world is going crazy.
TradGang is such a special place. We all come from different backgrounds. We all have different beliefs.
But we all have 2 things in common... RESPECT, and our love of the stick&string.
You just can't escape the constant "noise"!!! It's all over the media, and it's all people are talking about.
IMHO It doesn't matter who wins.... Our great nation is so divided now, we are on the brink of the next Civil War.
It's time to unplug... No cell phones, computors, TVs
The Bucks are running, the mountain is calling, and I must go....
Me, my Kodiak T/D, lots of arrows tipped with Razorheads and Judos....
Nothing but the sound of the wind and rustling leaves.
How long will I be gone... Who knows? Weekend? A week? Probly when my heart and mind are at peace....
Woodchucker, I wish we could all do that. Times are tough for many reasons, but you are right that in the world of Trad Gang, we don't have to agonize over these things. Instead, we can concentrate on our love of trad archery and bowhunting.
You're right of course, and I hope you can enjoy your time alone. We are divided, more than I've ever seen, we have a world with too many takers and not enough givers. :banghead:
I worry about what I can control. Like when a deer finally stands in front of me tonight I control my shot sequence. But I have to have my phone to post the pic here.
Enjoy the trip and be safe! Good luck!
Nature heals.
Once you find yourself in the woods again your mind will settle and clear.
Enjoy the time.
Glad your getting out, enjoy and good luck !! It it will still be a mess when you get back :dunno:
Enjoy chuck. I know how you cherish the cabin in the catskills.
From my experience, the time away doesn't necessarily heal, but it does give time to regroup for the next set of challenges.
I'm off on the 12th to chase Coyotes and not a moment to soon I need a break from politics pretty wound up all week. I'll be hunting by my lonesome for three days, three nights.
My usual partner has to work that's alright really looking forward to some alone time.
Long Barrel Dude;
Good luck on the coyote hunt. Bow or firearm ???
A guy I know from the Trapping Assn. once mounted a running jackrabbit decoy on a radio controlled truck. When a coyote came in he got video of it being chased by the coyote then turned it around and the rabbit was chasing the coyote. Total riot to watch !!!
I'm off to a Trad Shoot in Globe where I can be with 'normal' people.

Rifle. Shot a lot of Trad archery as a kid got pretty good would win turkey shoots and such. Recently got back in trad archery but I'm an old man now. Maybe if I get good again I might try and kill a coyote with a bow. Regards
Good for you enjoy it and good luck....
I hear you, I'm struggling myself and on top of all this I lost my kindred spirit nephew who was only 45 years old!!
woodchuck, enjoy your hunt. Jawge
Yeah, I'm still crying in my beer but have made a couple of hunts. The peace and quiet does help.
Well, as you've probly noticed.... I'm back!!
It was good to get away!! I didn't see any deer. Then again, I wasn't really looking. LMAO
Just kinda taking my bow for a walk... Lots of sign!!! Rubs and scrapes are popping up! Lots of tracks, deer, bear, coyote, and even a set of Bobcat tracks!!! I spent 2 hours shooting Judos in the field, even nailed a milkweed pod at about 65 steps!!! (that was LUCK!!) Set at the top of the field and watched the sun set into the Delaware River Valley.
Got some work done around the cabin. Set by the fire and drank beer.....
I really needed this!! :archer:
Glad you received much needed medicine chuck
Thanks, Brother!!!
You know you're welcome anytime, Charlie!!! :campfire:
Don't know why you'd ever come back to this crazy place??? But, if you do!! :archer: :archer:
Just got back from 6+ days in the woods. I still am feeling the benefit of being "unplugged" for even that stretch of time. It is definitely rejuvenating, refreshing and recentering.
:campfire: :archer2:
Mother Nature's quiet noises tend to sooth the mind...very helpful in troubled times.
Good luck with that..
Leave your cell phone at home and enjoy the whispering pines.
