I got lucky and took this big-bodied 8-pointer during the last 15 minutes of shooting light Friday. Used my 54" Mariah recurve and cedar arrow tipped with a Magnus 4-blade broadhead. Will be out looking for does now.

Very nice! Love those Magnus four-blades.
Great job Mike.
Hope we can enjoy some of that harvest in chili next April.
Way to go Mike, kinda odd to see you without your longbow!
I know, Dan. It is unusual for me to be hunting with a recurve, but I made a Mariah for myself that shot particularly well. So, I decided to give it some time in the woods. I am going back to my Destiny longbow now for chasing does. My natural preference is toward the simplicity of the longbow.

Very nice!!
Congrats Mike!! Behind ur house?
Congratulations
Thanks, Keith. The buck was not shot on our farm. I was hunting around the lake where we have a cabin. It is a really great spot with a healthy deer population. I was there a couple of days ago and saw 5 bucks and 4 does in a 3 hour sit. The first buck (a nice 8-pointer) taunted me by parading in a 10 yard semi-circle right in front of my. He must have known I only had doe tags. :archer:
With ur experience, u should know that deer know what tags u have! Congrats again!
