I went to a small patch of ground I have leased next to the ranch I am working at. It's small, only about 50ac. But there's some decent seer in the area. Anyway, got in a blind this morning well before daylight. Daylight came, and I saw a couple small bucks and does. A little after 8, this guy stepped out. After first glance at those long tines, I knew I was gonna shoot if I got a chance!!!
A few minutes later, the chance presented itself, and I took full advantage. The shot was about 10yds, and picture perfect. I got a complete passthru, and he made a mad dash. I watched him topple over thru the trees about 60yds out.

I'd be lying if I didn't admit I misjudged his antlers and there was some ground shrinkage. Even though he's not as big as I thought, he's still a great buck, and I couldn't be happier!!
I shot this buck with my newest Primal Tech recurve (50#@29"), .400 spine D&M Custom Arrows Easton Axis FMJ, and a 150gr German Kinetic XL broadhead.

It was a homemade blind made from an old galvanized water cistern.

Great deer again. Did he break his left G3 after you shot him and you found the tine piece? Or did it snap while you were moving him? :o

I had to go back and look myself,Bisch in your second pic looking down on his rack it looks just like his G3 was broke off.Congrats again glad you have regained confidence in your shooting.
I went back and looked at it again, and I think I see what y'all were seeing. I guess I never saw it before because I knew it wasn't broken. What you are seeing is an optical illusion in that pic.
Bisch
NICE!!!
Funny, it looks like you killed it out of "The Killing Tree'" at Solana. Great memories!

I just looked at the picture again and in no way did I see a broken tine this time, it's just the curve that created the illusion. That's ridiculous... the mind can play some odd games. :dunno:
Nice Bisch. You're a killing machine.
I'm not seeing any growing shrinkage??? Looks like a dandy from here.
Just how big did ya think he was??
Great stuff keep at it. Nice deer.
