Beautiful chilly morning. Several deer on the move but no shots taken. More to come!
Couple pics including one of our Bent Oak Outhouse. Anybody recognize the guy that's been keeping us company in there for 10 years? Lol
Let's see
Where did the GOOD looking guy go?
Which one Tony? Looks like a couple of good looking Kansas guys having a good time.
Hey Mike.....the deer were really moving this morning with the cold front that moved in. Saw a really nice Buck in the area so I held off on shooting a doe. Have you been out yet?
Swirling winds today :banghead:. KSshrewman is a couple hundred yards from me and I've heard him get busted four times . At least he's getting some action.
Day 3.
Huck and I hit it early this a.m. Temps were nice and cool but winds pretty high and kinda swirling again.
I did have this 8 at ten yards for a few minutes. Decided he had the password to get thru. Another decent 8 came by mid morning. Looks like some movement starting to happen. Looking forward to the next couple weeks.
You've got some good resolve. I may have slung one.
Nice camp fire best wishes!
Good luck guys. Looks like a wonderful place to "waste" time
Day five was a beautiful foggy morning. The little guys are really starting to get after em.
KSShrewman drew blood this morning......I'll let him tell the story. :campfire:
We've been battling warm weather and high winds. Finally the last two days have been crisp mornings with low winds. Yesterday morning was super slow for me while Huck saw a few and passed on a couple decent bucks. Last night much better as the chase was on! Huck had a very close encounter with a big 8 with w kickers but just wouldn't take the last step into lane.
This morning was perfect. We both saw good deer from far and near. About 8 am I had this nice 10 come in cruisin. Got hung up about 14 yards out for a few minutes. Finally after what seemed like eternity he made his way passed me for a nice 10 yard quartering away look. He was an older buck and on the decline like me so it just seemed like after 10 days in the stand the time was right. It ended quick as the Elkhart did its job.
The last couple years I've had opportunities but for one reason or the other I've passed or not gotten the job done. So as of November 12, 2020 my drought is over. Hallelujah!
I have to say...shortly after taking this buck Huck and I checked a camera and there is a monster in our woods! So now....I'm just praying that Huck gets an opportunity for a close look at the big boy.
Congratulations on a fine buck.
Great buck!

Congrats on a couple nice bucks, and what seems to be a great time!
Congratulations on a great hunt! I am surprised that no one has commented on the Rambling Redneck anti-crossbow poster. I remember that poster/advertisement from the 80's.
Thanks for sharing I enjoyed. Hate it's over but a mighty fine buck to take home though!
Thanks everyone! I'm with ya James, can't believe no one else commented on the cross gun model. One of our own.
It makes us feel like he's part of every hunt, lol.
Congratulations guys on a fantastic hunt! :clapper:
Congrats guys!!!!
Congrats on the additional deer taken. Looks to be a great season
Nice bucks, congrats! Always like seeing that shabin, too! Don't know about Uncle Barry in the crapper though, LOL!

Some people have asked about a pic of the big one.
Here he is. We are hoping he makes it till next year
but our rifle season is in full swing right now.
