Knee blinds or whatever you call them, basically a 25-30" flat front or horseshoe shaped blind, it seems all the companies are making them for turkey hunting, mine happens to be an Ameristep Throwdown....
Do these alarm deer if not left to sit and brushed in real well like a regular popup blind?
Over the past few years I started hunting some public land, and going "deep" with 20-30# climber is not only a workout but also time consuming to do after work.
I have a ghost blind and Im not 100% sold and even though it is lighter then a treestand its still kinda clumsy to carry.
Its public so cutting a bunch of limbs to make a blind is a no no, and finding a blowdown or naturally made blind where the deer run isnt always feasible.
Take a small portable seat and lean it against a tree and sit quietly. Works just as well as a screen blind in front of you. Do wear some face camo.
I second the collapsible stool against a tree idea.
Ive only been doing this way for two days since the season started so not a lot of time in seat but I like it a lot more than lugging that damn climber all over gods creation.
I bought this one on amazon and ditched the case and strap. I just tied some para-cord on the bottom leg and a slip knot ontop to silence it while carrying, stays quiet and is not noticeable on my back.
I'm shooting bows that measure from 64" to 70" AMO so obviously you must cant the bow if you're going to shoot from a chair like this.
It's cheap, give it a shot... Your back will thank you.

You might take a look at the hammock seat. That's what I use when I hunt from the ground. Only a couple of pounds, easy to set up and very comfortable.
I have a tripod seat that weighs less than 2 pounds and combined with my ASAT Leafy Suit, I can hunt anywhere undetected and without carrying in much weight.

Turkey are pretty dumb but see extremely well but don't notice brush changes. Deer on the other hand see pretty well and and are super acute to changes in THEIR yard and get quite suspicious of terrain changes. Which is why on private lands blinds are set up way in advance for them to get used to it. Less is more for a mobile ground hunter and always try to blend in not bury yourself in.
A deer's brain will say "That big bush wasn't there yesterday". SPLIT!
