Title: Dark Timber arrow fletching
Post by: abbatoys on September 29, 2020, 04:23:51 PM
I just found a set of shafts I bought last year from Big Jim. Wondering what glue to use for the feathers. I have always used Duco or Fletch-tite but I see his site says ct glue. For the life of me I have no idea what it is. Scott

I have been using Gorilla Clear glue on my Dark Timbers, sticks good and can be found at the big box store.

FWIW; I've had problems with Fletch-Tite after using it for years. Not sure if unopened tubes have an expiration time or not but a couple of doz. arrows seemed to be ok until the fletch started popping off.

Yea I only use fletch-tite when I use a wrap and have had no issues. I can't find my wraps so just going to glue direct to the shaft this time

For carbon i use gorilla glue CA with green cap. For wood or aluminum Duco should work fine tho it's slower.

Big Jim may have meant CA glue, Cyanoacrylate... Super glue...
