Ok... I have gotten the word that they are indeed bringing out the "mag riser" however it will be aluminum and not magnesium.
From the picture, they look to be nearly identical to the mag. They may have subtle differences that i can't see in the picture they sent me.
This year they will be coming out with the "A" riser and it will be available in moss green and old school bear camo... both satin. Retail for $399.
I have placed a tentative order but am curious as to which color would be the most popular.
Please give me a vote for green or camo.
I would guess that if this goes over well, they will come out with the "B" next.
I'm not promising anything, but would think these would come out a bit faster than their wood risers... maybe.
I'm waiting on a resized picture so I can post it.
I'm leaning toward the camo myself.
I will be ordering a bunch and will be posting a spot on our website to pre order. No matter what I do order, it's never enough so think about it but don't wait too long.
Thanks, BigJIm
BJ, camo, no question. I'm a "B" guy myself but it will be hard to not grab one up.
Moss Green with #2 grip and RH.
Camo.
Both would be great! I have 3 - A mags and 1- B mag. A is my favorite. Are they going to make all 3 grips available? The #3 is my favorite grip, I hope they make new ones available that will work on the old risers too.
Camo.
Good seeing you today Big Jim! Looking forward to breaking the TC in.
GREEN
Green
Too much camo out there
Green.
This is very exciting! I would take either color but would pick camo if I had to...........IJ
Green.
Yes bowwild, I agree... However, it is very cool camo! :goldtooth:
BigJim
Green for me as well.
I already have a A camo riser. What I would really like is a #2 grip.[attachment=1]
Camo B riser, low wrist grip
Never was a big Camo guy.... Not a big fan of a "high wrist" grip either.
Moss Green A-handle, with 40# number 1 limbs
(Hmmm, think I just made an "order") :readit:
I like green more like Bear used to be
[attachment=1,msg2932542]
Like this with a number two grip. Supposedly, this is the new Moss Green handle.
Definitely green-and left handed. :biglaugh:
"If" I were to buy one, it would definitely be the green. That's a good looking handle.
Either color would work for me. Amazing the the color difference of choice between two sites.
hawkeye n pa... what color difference? what two sites? On here, the only color that is available and shown is the moss green. The camo pictured is one someone else had done of an old mag riser.
BIgJim
LH, Green, A Handle.
I probably have all the limbs I need.

I think he means more people here prefer the green. More people on "the other site" prefer the camo.
RH Green A handle would be awesome!
I vote green! Been shooting Bear takedowns since 1972, and the mag risor has been my go too for years. Own two A, two B and a C, prefer the A with No. 1 limbs and No. 2 grip.
Bvas is correct Big Jim.
My opinion is that the green riser would be better looking and very traditional. I don't think that a riser has enough room on it for the Fred Bear camo to really have a visual impact, but I could be wrong. That being said, I am looking forward to seeing detailed photos of the new aluminum risers.
I might need one....
Personally, I like the camo and of all the responses I have received it seems that the camo has edged out the green at about 60/40.
Thanks, BigJim
Now that I see the camo in the photo it looks like they have scaled it down to make it work.
I think I need to get busy selling some stuff so I can order one. I am an A riser kind of guy.
I really don't need more bows, darn it... :-)
Smokin Joe, we call "Need" a dirty word around here! :biglaugh:
BigJim
I might have to get into this sort of thing,i've always liked camo. You should add one more thing to the list of things you make, and make aftermarket limbs for Bear takedowns. :biglaugh:
They both look great, but I prefer that old school camo
They told me that it is likely that the left hand risers will be available next year. Along with grip options.
I'm sure it being aluminum and not magnesium, it didn't need the reinforced riser.
Tentative release in early December.
We have a waiting list for.ing as we speak..
Shag's wife is the first one on the list!... so she said give her a break already . Just kidding, but she's probably thinking it ?? Bigjim
I like them both but I guess I lean just a bit more towards the green.
Jim - how do you get on the waiting list? I've got a #3 set of Paul Schafer built limbs that have been homeless for 8 years. They sure would look good on that old school camo riser.
I cannot believe they are not offering a LH version.
D.P.
Camo, LH
I'm an "old school" camo guy BUT....
I still vote Green!! (RH)
BJ, are there other limb options?? or just the standards?
(If I'm gonna buy another riser then.....)
I like the green. I hope they do a B riser too.
Mark
So, I'm sure they are waiting to come out with the LH risers, optional grips and B risers .. maybe optional limbs until they see how well these do. It is an extremely expensive process to develop molds. .. even though many people ask for them to "bring back ol bow xyz", the desire for lots of those bows are nil.
If you are wanting to get on a waiting list for any bear products, give us a call at the office and Bridgett will hook you up.
Thanks, BigJim
I called Bridgett yesterday.....
!'M ON THE LIST!!!!! :bigsmyl:
You go with the camo riser and slap these Fred Bear Limbsations on the black limbs... BAM! I'm in love.
I'm on the list for a Moss Green!! Any Idea when they may be arriving?
I see they are being advertised on the Bear website :bigsmyl:
They told me hopefully December.
Bigjim
Thanks!!!! Keep us posted!!! :archer:
Green
I'm like'n the old school camo and I'm not much of a camo fan.
Either one would be fine with me.
Thanks
Soon...??
I do hope they also start making a few extra #1, #2 and #3 rubber grips, particularly the #1s. Lots of mag risers out there already that lack the grips.
My vote would be Green!

Any news from Bear...??
Got my new 3Rivers catalog the other day. They're in there, but their website says "backorder"
I spoke to bear last month and was told feb.
We can put you on a list. We are getting a bunch of risers, but pre orders are sucking them up.
BigJim
Big Jim, I'd say you and Bear have a winner on your hands.
I called Bridgett Sept 30th, and got on the list for a Moss Green.
I should be "up top" !!! :bigsmyl:
Not sure how I missed this new riser. I never figured I would be interested in a non-ILF metal riser.......but that riser has some seriously cool looks. Really liking that camo version! I will wait hopefully for a "B" riser.

Any news yet...?? (Good things are worth waiting for)
Green .But I do like that old 60's camp. :archer2:
Waiting... :coffee:
YIPPEEEEE!!!!!! It's in the mail !!!!! :archer:
I got mine from 3Rivers on Tuesday...still waiting on my limbs from them.
Great Stuff Jim!
That's a great thing to offer. Keep those bears alive.
Well folks, My "Moss Green" mag-handle arrived today, and I couldn't be happier!!! :archer:
I put my #1-40# 50th Anniversary limbs on it, and strung it up with a new 50th anniversary string that I got last year from 3Rivers. Then I mounted my old Great Northern side mount bow quiver, and I must say... It's a KEEPER!!!
I still need to set the nock point, and brace height, but hopefully will be shooting it tomorrow!!
Is the shelf a bit higher on the hand placement than the older risers? I don't care for a real low
shelf myself.
Glad you like it and is it quiet?
Jim says moss green risers are in...... better jump on em....
Steve, This shelf is about 1/4" above my knuckle. Where as my 2015 red stripe is literally just above my knuckle (1/16") As for quiet? First, I don't use silencers. I play around with the brace height, untill I get the bow as quiet as possible. Also, without them, a bad release is imediatly noticeable by the louder "twange". I like to hear a dull "thump" on the release. Come hunting season, I tie on a few rubber wiskers and I'm a happy hunter! :archer:
All that being said, It's just as quiet as my red stripe!! My only minor gripe, is that the rubber grip tends to shift a little bit? But, I'll attribute that to it just being "new"...??
